Would these be good for water based body paint?

Yes for sure not to stiff that it would move with the smoothness of the body.

how do i clean these?

I have always used the masters brush cleaner and just water if you are using acrylic paint I use a 5 gallon bucket about two thirds full just tap them on the side of the bucket the masters brush cleaner works for acrylic and oil paint and use YouTube for tips on cleaning brush cleaning for the medium you use. Watercolor oil or acrylic you can learn just about anything on YouTube lol
