I bought this to put on a small milling machine and I must say I wasn't disappointed with the vice when I unpacked it. Yes maybe I could have used the smaller version (3in), and it is a little large on my mill but it will give me a bit more capacity.It is well made for the price and once indicated in to the rear jaw seems to be more than accurate enough for the hobby worker, no its not a good as a Kurt vice but it is also about 20% of the cost of one.The alternative for me was a second hand one from an auction site and they usually have holes drilled in them by accident and unless you want to travel to pick one up (as they are all very heavy) prohibitively expensive to get shipped to you, believe me when I say the delivery driver was very glad to put this one down.I didn't go for the swivel base version at I felt that would add height so reducing capacity above and gave another movement to account for when setting up, I'm a believer in KISS, keep it simple stupid, there are enough thing to get wrong without adding to the list.
