This is a great kit. Obviously, it can't be everything to everyone, but it certainly satisfies my handgun cleaning needs.I'm surprised at some of the negative comments. The case is solid as heck and there's really not that much space under the tray. I did manage to squeeze a couple small items in there, but I wouldn't have considered it a shortcoming if I hadn't. By the way... the tray is quite sturdy and I expect it to last as long as the rest of the case.There is also no need for any additional adapters. All of the attachments can screw directly into any of rods, including the shortest handle rod without issue. This provides all of the length options anyone will need for handgun maintenance.Overall, I'm highly impressed by the quality of this kit and I would recommend it without reservation.

I bought this kit because it has all metal tips. which is rare for kits below $50. cleaned out a pistol and 2 rifles just fine. Was not afraid of breaking it.Maximum length of rod is 30 inches + tip.All tips have their caliber stamped into the metal.The kit includes:=============================================================1 Rod Handle, brass threads molded into handle.3 Brass rods, 10 inches each-----1 swivel rod-----2 fixed rods8 Aluminum & Bronze Wire, Brush Tips:-----22, 243, 25, 270, 30, 32, 357, 40, 459 Brass 'Jag' Tips:-----22, 243, 25, 270, 284*, 30, 32, 357, 40, 452 Brass Loop Tips:-----22, 303 different sizes of what appears to be Real Cotton pads(could be a blend). 0.75", 1.5", and 2" squares. maybe 20 each, I didn't count.1 plastic muzzle guard & 1 brass thread extension for it.=============================================================The case is decent. It's a semi-cheap plastic case.Cons:NO EXTRA ROOM for oil/cleaner. the tray can lift out but there is only room underneath for 1-2 tiny bottles.The top lid is made of that high tension, clear plastic that cracks easily and makes static charge.(Bottom is softer black plastic)Pros:All around the bottom edges is rubber, it stick nicely to the table, and absorbs shock.Everything was where it should be after shipping. but also easy to remove.

Great kit for the money - similar priced items on Amazon and in stores are junk and prone to stripped threads and broken plastic. This is a solidly crafted set of pistol cleaning tools, with all-metal rod and slotted tips, and an actual metal bushing in the plastic handle. Avoid the others in this price range (including the Hoppes branded ones); the all-plastic handles will crack and the plastic slotted tips will break.THIS KIT DOES INCLUDE 22, 32, AND 44 CALIBER.For some reason, the item description on Amazon and the packaging of the item don't mention this, but instead states "5 calibers" lists 38, 357, and 9mm as separate calibers... it has two bronze brushes, a cotton swab, and a slotted tip for 22cal. It does NOT have a bronze brush for a 32, but does have a designated cotton swab and slotted tip. It has a dual-purpose 44/45 bronze brush, 44/45 cotton swab, and slotted tip.CALIBERS:-22 family (223/5.56, 22 Short, 22lr, 22 Jet, 22wmr, etc)-32 family (32acp, 32sw short/long, .327mag, etc)-9mm family (38spl, 357mag, .380acp, 38 super, 9mm para/luger, 357sig, etc)-40 family (40sw, 10mm Auto, etc)-44/45 families (44spl, 44mag, 45acp, 45lc, 45-70, 45gap, etc)PROS:- Almost all metal parts (rod, brushes, tips)- Plastic handle is made to last, has metal bushing (these typically break first)- Small durable case, easy to stow in range bag, sturdy claspsCONS:- Lacks 32cal bronze brush, but has two 22cal bronze brushes?- Rod is short, and may not be suitable for 8"+ barrels- Difficult to remove some parts from case (handle)4/5 stars because it really ought to have a 22 and a 32 bronze brush, rather than two 22 bronze brushes.First timers, remember to buy lubricant and a barrel solvent/cleaner, and be sure it won't harm your polymer framed handgun! Hoppes is good but there are many other brands that work well. An old dress shirt can be cut up to make a lifetime supply of cleaning patches - don't waste money on fancy ones.

I love how nice and neat everything is inside of the case.. the case is the main reason i purchased this kit and also for all the goodies of course, everything seems to work like its intended. I havent had any problems with the threads or using the different tools. Im sure there better quality things out there but do they come in a nice fancy case??? Probably not... maybe they do.. im not sure to be honest but i own a ruger so i felt this kit was only necessary lol in conclusion this item makes a great gift for any new gun owner or even an experienced gun buff, everything works well and how it should, for the price i think its well worth it!

I wouldn't be impressed Ruger has always made good quality gear, I am happy that I went with this cleaning kit over the other cheaper gun cleaning kits that are out there.The case it comes in, is made out of good quality material, the material is strong and holds an impact. The closing hinges are nice they have a nice rubber coating on the closing hinges and are tight and secure.Each component is engraved and marked, so you don't have to second guess yourself, when you are new to cleaning your equipment.The cleaning rods are really well made, I assembled all three rods, there is minimum bow flex to them holds up strong and is durable.Overall, spend the extra money, you wont regret it.
