Poshland DBD-041, CUSTOM HANDMADE DAMASCUS STEEL BILLET/BLANK BLADE MAKING BAR (TWIST)

The damascus billet that I ordered arrived very quickly and very well packaged. It was delivered in a reinforced bubble amazon package, inside the packaging was a cardboard box that had another layer of bubble wrap, and a plastic layer wrapped around the billet coated in oil to prevent rusting.At first glimpse this piece was astonishing, no visual deformations, delaminations, it was virtually as perfect as you could get for any type of steel bar or billet. after further inspection, another review was discredited when the item was ground and re-etched using 1 part muriatic acid to 2 parts hydrogen peroxide, the layers and pattern appeared again, and the pattern was that much more impressive after allowing it to soak in wd40 over night, so the item that I recieved was in fact damascus with the pattern clearly visible throughout the billet. If you have an issue with seeing the layers allow the item to sit for a longer duration in the acid mixture and it will etch deeper into the material.Absolutely 5☆ for product description, quality of craftsmanship, product protection during shipping, and for shipping time, 24 hours and it was at my door which speaks volumes for the rural area that I live in.THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A PRODUCT THAT I WILL PURCHASE AGAIN AND AGAIN, AS WELL AS RECOMMEND TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS!

Billet is just as described, a twist Damascus. The pattern does carry through the billet. Mine had some small pits and a small crack at one end of the piece, nothing a grinder and some sanding can't fix, but still a great piece of steel.

For those that said this was not real damascus, well youre wrong for all intents and purposes but correct in the sense of the damascus steel that was made hundreds of years ago. This is Real folded steel, the pattern does go through the entire billet it is not only surfaces etched. Clearly those guys have never heard of ferric chloride, or Google for that matter. No offense. Well worth the money and I was able to make a nice smaller cowboy style bowie and a fixed blade traight razor with a larger than traditional blade. Thanks would purchase again.

The pattern was nice would have been great if i didnt have to chase delaminations though i ended up grinding out my makers mark and settling with one delamination cause it was already way thin i wont be selling this piece so ill chalk it up as a lesson you get what you pay for

Very very disappointed in this product. The piece of steel does not have the pattern running through the steel. I bought its the mske a knife ffg or my wife after I got the shape forged out and cleaned up most the way the pattern is gone. I will never buy this product again. A big waste of money for Damascus steel that does not keep it pattern.

Got this for my bf, as his hobby is forging knives, and he was very excited to get it.
