This light is perfect for my upright piano. It gives off light to both the sheet music and the keyboard. You have a choice of yellow or white light with brightness adjustments for both. There is also a favorite setting. The light’s base is extremely heavy so it stays put. Finally, it really looks great on my piano. Very pleased!

While I would have preferred a light from Cocoweb for my ego, this one is actually perfect and much less costly. I like how adjustable it is in terms of height and positioning of the actual light. Doesn’t shine in my eyes, thanks again to being so adjustable, and completely illuminates the music and keys. I do not need overhead or other lighting. I have had it a few months and no issues.

I recently bought a player piano and couldn't see the keys move. This light has a glow of light that are easy on the eyes. As you can tell from photo, the arm reach of lamp makes reading music (words :) ) very easy. I would have given 5*'s if the arms were a bit longer to not have to move it so close to the hinge. Made Well!

I needed a lamp for my grandmother’s old secretary desk. I looked and looked for something with a narrow base, but wide light. This was a great find. Works perfectly where we needed it.

I initially bought this lamp to use on top of an old upright piano that I’m playing in a local theatre production. This lamp is perfect because there are many brightness settings to choose from. The base of the lamp is very heavy, which allows me to safely extend the lamp neck forward to illuminate the area below the lamp. The wide lamp wonderfully lights the span of the entire keyboard. The adjustable shade can be set to throw more or less light, and is perfect in the theatre setting. I can set it so that people in the audience who are seated across the way facing the backside of the lamp are not distracted or blinded by the lamp light. My music book propped on the music rack is perfectly illuminated.This lamp works well on taller pianos. I’m guessing that it might work on spinets, but if not, it would work well on a studio upright or taller. After our theatre production closes, I plan to put this lamp on the high shelf of my computer cabinet/stand so that I can have adequate light while doing paperwork.

This lamp is not inexpensive, but worth every dollar. A beautiful, well designed, versatile and sturdy solution for throwing light on music when the piano is upright and a clip-on lamp would not do. The base is substantially weighted and rock solid. There is no doubt about it staying in place no matter how far out the lamp is extended. The base has a clever design that allows it to be seated on top of a hinge or electric cord without creating the slightest instability. On top of all of this, the lamp offers 5 degrees of brightness and color temperature controls from incandescent yellow to daylight blue-white.

This light feels very stable sitting atop my upright piano. The base is heavy and turning on the lamp is easy with a light touch. I had another light picked out and in my lists for a couple of years, but when I finally decided to purchase one, I found this one and noticed that the weight was more than twice the weight of the other one. I’ve had a lamp topple over onto a piano once before and I didn’t want that to happen again, so I figured that the heavier the base, the less likely that was to happen. I’m very pleased with this one.
