I nought the platinum blonde and the yellow blonde and the whole messy bun was the exact color throughout. So the platinum blonde was all platinum and the yellow blonde was all yellow. I initially went with the silver gray thinking that my hair was whiter than it is. It is all white in the front, but the back is darker and it looked absurd. So I would match the color to the back of your head where graying takes place at a slower rate and where you will actually be wearing the messy bun.

Q: Could this be put onto a claw clip?

its on an elastic - hair tie thing - you could cut it I guess and attach it BUT I'd think the hair clip top would show,. imagine taking a scrunchie and putting it on a claw clip. You wont cover the claw clip. AND I dont know how cutting the elastic would impact the integrity of the whole thing. It would fall apart I bet - personally, I wouldnt try it. but this is an AMAZING hair piece. I put it on like scrunchie doubled, sometimes tripled. its so realistic
