Absolutely Delicious
I'm such a fan of true Basmati rice, and this is the best brand I've found. The American basmati rice versions (grown in the U.S.) I've tried just don't taste the same as the rice from the Himalayas. This cooks beautifully in my Zojirushi rice cooker (highly recommended) and comes out absolutely perfect. The price is also good, plus I've never seen this brand in any local stores.

So aromatic.
We like this type of rice to make our curry dishes with it as it is very aromatic and its taste is very unique. It is so flavorful especially mixed with veggies, tofu and meats. We also like to eat it just plain with a great soy sauce to enhance the flavor and the texture. This Basmati rice can be cooked in a rice cooker or over the stove top with the right amount of water. It is of the highest quality and the family is enjoying it.

makes lovely long grain fluffy rice, good smell/taste when cooked, read on for more info!!
Ok, many of ya'll had me freaking out that I bought a 15 lb bag of plastic pieces. I gave the bag a sniff test, and couldnt pick up any aroma. Doesn't basmati rice emanate a luscious aroma? So I looked up other brands (well known) and saw similar comments about the rice not having an aroma. Then I decided that the only way I would know is just to cook some. First I added a little to a plain pan and proceeded to "toast" it on my gas top stove. I figured if there were plastic bits, I would see it, smell it right? Nothing unusual to be noted. Threw that out, and took fresh rice to add to my rice cooker (rinsed well first). I made according to my machines directions. As it cooked I could smell the aroma that I expected. When it was done, the pieces were perfect. Not sticky, totally fluffy. No gumminess. Tasted as it should. Then I wanted to look over the plastic bag within the burlap sack. In order to pull it out I had to pour out some rice. Glad I did this because once in a bowl (2 quart size), I put my nose to it and could smell the rice just fine. There's that aroma! After I pulled out the plastic bag with remainder of rice, I looked it over for holes, bugs, and debris. No bugs, no debris. I did see some tiny holes. Very small, and I could tell that they were/are most likely puncture marks from the rice. Not many, but enough for me to double bag it with another plastic bag I had on hand. Then I slid it back into the burlap bag and put back what I took out. Really, no problems. I had this at 4 stars, but once I really worked with it and looked it over, I can say that I am pleased. Very happy that the rice is in a plastic bag and not just in burlap.I would consider this again depending on price. I was able to get a 15lb bag for $20 (on sale). I can get 1lb bags at local $Tree for 1.25 per lb, so I didnt really save any buying this.. but it saved me a trip. This page shows old reviews, so it may be beneficial to change the viewing option to see "most recent first".

Good Quality, Great Taste, Slightly Shorter Grain
This Royal Basmati Rice is a solid choice for anyone looking for authentic, long-grain rice with a nice taste and texture. It cooks up fluffy and non-sticky, and the quality is evident, especially in terms of flavor. It’s super easy to prepare, taking just about 15 minutes, and has become a go-to in my kitchen for pairing with curries and pilafs. One minor drawback is that the grains are a bit shorter than what I typically expect from basmati, but it doesn’t impact the taste or cooking quality. I also appreciate that it’s low-sodium, vegan, and free from cholesterol—good for a variety of diets. While there were a few reviews mentioning concerns with occasional bugs, I’ve found that my bag was perfectly fine. Overall, a great value for the price and a dependable addition to our pantry!

Premium taste & Quality Basmati Rice
As someone who loves cooking and exploring authentic cuisines, Authentic Royal Basmati Rice has completely elevated my kitchen experience. This 15-lb bag is a treasure for anyone who values quality and taste in their meals.First, the grains are long, slender, and aromatic—true to the hallmark of premium basmati rice. When cooked, the grains remain separate, fluffy, and light, making it ideal for dishes like biryanis, pilafs, and even simple steamed rice. The naturally aged process really enhances the flavor, delivering that signature nutty aroma and a taste that feels luxurious with every bite. What I particularly love is how versatile this rice is. It pairs beautifully with Indian curries, stir-fries, or even as a base for a rice bowl. The bag is resealable, which makes storage easy and ensures the rice stays fresh. For the quantity and quality offered, it’s a fantastic value.
