Unacceptable flaws at this price range. Read on for detailed insights!
Update (Downgrade from 3 stars to 1 star): After I removed the watch from the case once and refitted it again, the bezel movement completely stopped working. No matter how many times I tried, it doesn't work and case itself is rigid and deformed. Returned and got the half-price competetion (the supcase from unicorn beetle). Guess what, its less stiffer, similar quality material, they have those hinges around the wrist curvature which makes it less stiffer and somewhat possible to place it on a flat surface, so much easier to put it and remove it (Tested 20 times) and the bezel access is a bit bigger and works great. And it's just half the price. Yes, it looks very slightly bland and uncool than the Spigen but hardly noticeable. Shame on Spigen for slowly becoming an Apple like brand.Original Review::::: Alright, so there has been lots of positive reviews detailing the pros of the watch. I'll focus on the cons of this nice rugged case. So here's a list of all that's flawed with this case:Strap design not compatible with any flat wireless charging pad or stand - The two edges of the strap is strongly moulded into a curvy design to wrap around your wrists, so you can almost never place this watch face-up flat on any surface. This means it can only be charged using the magnetic charger that comes with the watch while only placing the watch sideways on a surface. It doesn't support Samsung's official wireless charging pad (Phone + watch charging pad combo stands). Could've had a flexible hinge on the strap edges to make it possible to lay it flat. Its just a single piece of rigid moulded rubber for 150 bucks.Bezel rotation issues - All you right handers wearing the watch on your left wrist will feel that the cut provided for Bezel access on the left side is not just an inconvenience but makes the bazel useless. You cannot use the bazel without covering the entire screen and hence you cannot use the bezel like you used in previous watches or watch 4 without this case. You'll eventually end up swiping in the screen itself instead, which in my opinion is a huge compromise in accessibility and makes the bezel pointless. How can such an experienced case manufacturer not think of this when designing an expensive case.Case Installation & removal issues - As some reviewers pointed out, the installation and removal of the case is not very straightforward and the instructions provided in the manual is totally wrong and it doesn't work that way. Refer to youtube for proper instructions/tutorials. I hear mild crack noises everytime I try to put the watch or remove it (It didn't break anything so far but sure is scary). This also compounds one of the previous issues I mentioned regarding flat wireless charging pad. You just cannot remove it from the case easily to charge it every night and put it back with ease. Should've made this easier with tiny pull handles or spring lever release mechanisms. I can understand if this was a $10 case. The Price - I really like the quality of materials used and love the G Shock look. I do appreciate quality and understand good quality product comes with an equally big price tag. But does that mean it should be priced as much as a cheap G Shock watch itself? Like come on, it's just a single piece of hard moulded rubber materials with a small metal buckle. Just because there is no other quality product in competition, we will have to pay whatever is written on the price tag. Don't get me wrong, this comes from a person who has always spent $50-75 on extremely good quality, worthy spigen cases for all of my devices since the last several years. This just doesn't seem like good value at all. Also, when you pay $50 for a watch strap you expect absolute perfection. There should be no compromises here.If you have made it this far and feel like the above mentioned flaws don't affect you and still considering to buy this protective strap, here are the good things:The fit is perfect and precise cut outs for all the sensors and buttons. The quality of materials are good as expected. Amazing G-Shock look (Especially love the army green colour). The max protection you can provide for this watch at this moment. There is just no better product available out there right now (Although, I wish spigen or a competitor makes a better case soon addressing all that's wrong about this design).
