I have both a 1924 and 1936 singer treadle machines, in cabinets these belts work perfectly.. these old iron ladies work like new. Nice to know I can get parts for these old ladies still. Belts, shuttles and bobbins, stuff your always needing. 😊

Bring the belt up around the treadle wheel in the back and through the back opening alongside your machine hand wheel. Pin a clothes pin on the belt as it passes through the back opening. Bring the other end of the belt around the front of the wheel and up through the opening, also pin a clothes pin to hold it in place. Bring the cut ends together to meet . Mark and cut the end that has no staple. Bring that end out and drive a hole using a nail or an awl about 1/4" back from your end. Run the staple through and close with a pliers. The belt will be a little loose, but run the machine to stretch the belt and repeat the process to shorten.

It comes longer than needed bit that helps if you don't know the exact size needed for your machine. I was able to cut it to perfect size on the 1st try. After installing I ran the treadle with the machine unthreaded on and off for a week then rechecked tightness, no looseness at all. Durability seems to be good, time and usage will tell.
