Perfect for console cable
I needed an adapter for console access from a USB serial to RJ45 into a an uncommon telecom pinout. Worked perfect.

Work fine except that two female mounts would have been better for attaching the cables. I removed the screws and taped the cables together

Wrong gender nut fittings on one face
I ordered the male-to-male version, which should then let me attach a female cable end to each side. To do that properly, the threaded fittings need to be the nut-type on each face of the part, since the female cable ends have thumb-screws on them - the thumbscrews turn threaded screws, which go into the nuts just outside the male connectors normally. These parts however have nuts on one face and screws on the other - shows in the pictures too. Which means you cannot actually use a female cable on each side of this adapter without also adding barrel nuts - not included. Joy, another little something to order on AMZN. (BTW, the correct nuts are 4-40standoffs, similar to https://smile.amazon.com/uxcell-100pcs-Female-Thread-Standoff/dp/B0177AI14W/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1520804451&sr=8-5&keywords=4-40+standoff - you need TWO, but can buy them 100 at a time.

Adapter...
It's a serial adapter. Build looks fine.I do a lot of work with serial communications (along with many of my co-workers). Many of my adapters "Ran off". So, 2 days later, I'm stocked up.

Got as a connector for an OBDII cable. Works great, tight connections, very satisfied.

Not Null Modem Yellow=Straight Orange=Null Modem
These are simply straight gender changers. They are not null modem gender changers. Straight gender changers have a yellow band. Null modem connectors have an orange band and specifically say NULL MODEM.
