The most important thing to know is these are BAD A_S.
Tried sealed & ported, if you’re going, sealed the smaller, the box, the more power you need, and if you go much bigger than optimal .4 ft.³ you might as well throw a port in there, I’ve settled on a .8 ft.³ 3” port 10.6” tuned to 43Hz and yup that hit the spot, that’s a cross between sealed and ported (port 2” from back of enclosure) and yes this woofer drops off silent at exactly 34Hz just as the spec sheet says, now one of these rattles my entire living room like a 12” HT sub, 2 may be way over kill in my coupe we’ll see, oh ya and I’m an SQ guy, this driver ported is NOT sloppy like larger drivers, although I favor sealed designs, this specific driver, I think sounds better, Ported, even for sound quality, I am not and will not push this driver to its limits. 200w @2 ohms is more than enoughI guess the most important thing is to let this thing play for a half a day at mid volume 4-6 hours +/- it really does start sounding better and better …….have funOk edit: I was thinking I’m gonna need 10’s, nah, slipped them into this BBox after they broke in , don’t need 10’s these 8’s are normal 10’s. …...8 ft.³ ported is all these suckers need. Or .4 ft.³ sealed. Before breaking they had a lot of snappy bass after 10 hours. They have a deep and full chest thump, you can hear these well outside the car for sure, and they do sound a lot bigger than they areNow running them sealed .40 ft3 splitting 600w to them from a PPI ATOM series amp, and they sound excellent, of course I cannot turn my head unit up past 28 of 35 gain is at 1/3 with an input signal of less than 2V ……crazy stuff, they easily rival my old school JBL GT 1000’s, you can even cross these a little higher into the Midwoofers range if you like, and cross them to a mid range in Tweeter for some home stereo sound, I’m content

Great budget HiFi Sub
I own two of these subs and built three boxes:Two 1.0 cubic ft ported boxes with 3" flared "aero" precision ports turned to 45 HZ with 1/2" MDF walls and corner bracing. The third, for shits and giggles, was a .5 cubic ft 1" MDF sealed box with heavy bracing, just to hear how that would sound. I wish I had a second sealed box, but I got lazy after building three, so I digress. These recommendations came from the manual, but I modeled them in Bass-Box Pro, thinking I could do better. Lo-and-behold, Infinity knew what they were doing and and these gave them the most-optimal response.I'm feeding them 450W each from a Crown XLi1500. They are to fill in low end for a pair of Magnepan MMGs. I use a MiniDSP 2x4 for correction/EQ and a UMIK-1 to measure room response. I replaced two BIC Formula F-12s, which were loud, but not very musical; they are much better-suited for movies/home theater applications.Sound is obviously very subjective, but I love the way these sound, especially with Magnepans, which are hard to get to blend with a lot of subs. Doing a sine-wave sweep, I cannot differentiate when the subs roll off and the speakers take over. These are only 8" budget subs, so obviously they aren't going to play super low or loud, but they get down to around 35 hz before dropping off. They advertise 34-200 HZ response and take RMS all day long, so Infinity rated them accurately (not exaggerated like most car-audio equipment can be.)I took them into my car, but I much-prefer them in the house. I have two Sundown SA-18s in my Kia Soul so it's kind of an apples-to-oranges comparison. My previous system sub-stage was three Dayton Audio RSS390HO 15s, which are obviously much better at accuracy/hifi, but the Sundowns put them to shame in the SPL department. My background is Mechanical Design and Technical Writing & Training. The most expensive system I've heard was a pair of Wilson Audio Chronosonic XVX with a pair of Wilson Audio Subsonics; total system/room price was $1.6 million. The next best listening room I've heard was a McIntosh XRT1.1K line-array setup.I've demo'd tons of gear from Klipsch, KEF, Paradigm, Vandersteen, Bowers & Wilkins, Focal, Magnepan, Martin Logan, and McIntosh's lineups, as well as many headphones, including flagships from Sennheiser, Grado, Focal, AKG, Shure, Sony, and more. I own tons of headphones from the above-mentioned companies and then some. I attend audio competitions such as Parts Express and Slamology; I enjoy both premium SQ and, on occasion, extreme SPL.

Great sub, be aware of ordering used
Used to replace a rear deck subwoofer in a 2016 Camry with JBL system. I made my own plywood adapter to mount this 8" sub to a 6x9 hole, so it's mounted in an Infinite Baffle configuration with the trunk space acting as the sub box. So far, I've left it switched in the 4 ohm position, better matching the ~6 ohm impedance of the oem sub. It blows the pants off the crappy oem ultra lightweight paper cone sub it replaced, nice clean tight bass. I can really feel the strings and detail in the music now. The sub itself gets 5 stars from me.However, I did order 2 of these, used, from amazon, one of which came with some Skar brand sub, packaged in a Kappa 800W box. I returned that. I won't rate that here though, as it may well be that someone cheated amazon on a return and they just turned around and shipped the box to me without checking what was returned in the box. Also of note is that the used Kappa 800W sub I received that was actually an 8" Kappa 800W, was packaged in a Kappa 1000W (10") sub box! At least they got that one right, sort of. So just be aware, when you order used stuff from the amazon warehouse, it appears they don't always check the contents before shipping. In this case, amazon is redeemed by their great return policy...
