Why did you pick this product vs others?:Husband’s co-worker told him about it. We ordered and received the hair color the next day the day. I followed instructions to apply to dry hair. I have very short hair and used four pumps since I have stubborn grey hair. I left the color on my hair for 25 minutes with my grey hair. I rinsed the product out and was pleasantly surprised at the results! I did not use skin protectants to prevent skin staining. There was no staining at all! The is a very faint scent of maybe moth balls, but again it was very faint. The smell was completely gone when I rinsed my hair. This bottle should last me at least 5-6 months. I will update if I should have skin irritation, but so far no irritation.

I always make a huge mess when I dye my hair and this time it was no different, even though it is a shampoo that dyes and stains, but as soon as you shower it comes off completely, leaving only the dyed strands of hair. It covered 100% of my gray hair. I applied it to completely dry hair and left it on for about 30 minutes. I rinsed my hair and used very little shampoo to make it softer, because it felt a little dry. When I dried it, I used some oils and heat protectant and I found it dried out but with shine. I really liked it. I recommend it.

Did the product work: yes. It evenly colored my hair and covered my little sprinkles of silver hairs. The smell was not the worst I’ve ever smelled but not good. It had a very chemical smell. It did leave my hair very shiny and it was true to color. I got dark brown. Next time I think I would prefer the light brown but that is my opinion. I think this just came out a little too dark for my complexion. It also worked for my eyebrows too! Only gave it 4 stars because of the smell and it did make my scalp itch and burn a little.

Unfortunately it didn’t do anything with my grays. I actually left it for longer. I only used one time so I’m gonna give it one for chance. I’ll come back with the update. Also I don’t like that it doesn’t explain what to do after you rinse. Am I supposed to wash my hair with it? Because one wash won’t be enough. My hair was dirty. Am I supposed to put conditioner after I rise it? So I think they should be more specific with the instructions. For now I don’t recommend this product but if in my second use works then I’ll come back with the update.Update: I LOVE THIS! Ok so yes it didn’t work at first but then I tried a 2nd time and a 3rd time and it worked! I mean does it cover every single gray? NO! But I would say maybe 70 % of it. At least the ones that matter to me which are the front ones. I haven’t dye my hair on about 3 months and I’m not planing to do it if this product keeps working this way. Another reason I love this it’s because my hair looks more natural and more alive. You can see for yourself the before and after. I would definitely recommend this product.

The dye worked well. I have dark brown hair and was coloring gray roots. I left it on 15 minutes. I’d go 20 next time as my result (on the roots) was slightly reddish-brown (see photos). I’m sure I’m the only one that will notice it, as I have to look closely. My color is warmer and richer after use. The product does not really smell much. The smell was very faint, and not unpleasant.My tips:Must be used on dry hair.Go around your hairline with Vaseline before starting so it’s easier to clean the excess dye off your skin.Go at least 5 minutes longer on your time if coloring grays.Do it in your shower stall because the way it’s applied flicks specks of product everywhere. I had it on my stomach, my leg, my counter, my toilet, my cheeks, wrists, arms and forehead. This does not happen to me with box dye and an applicator brush.If not coloring in your shower stall, place a newspaper down under your bottle, just in case! This is also a handy place to set your gloves while waiting for processing.Clean up drips on surfaces ASAP.Don’t use their gloves. They are baggy, noisy, “lunch lady gloves”. One reason why the process was so messy is because the gloves were sliding so much as I was working the product into a lather. (You DO need gloves though. Try disposable medical gloves.)Have a good quality conditioner ready. This product left my hair feeling healthy, but I did end up with tangles after rinsing. Consider a packet of deep conditioner (it just feels so nice and soft afterward!)Overall, love it! Way easier than painting dye on section by section, hair stayed healthy, takes less time, good color result!(Sidenote: felt a slight tingle at 13 min. Much less than how the box dye feels though. Wasn’t a big deal to me.)

I used Ivil Black hair dye after doing a patch test. The results were great! I left the shampoo on for 30 minutes which was perfect for me. All my grey was covered perfectly, especially around the crown. I am very happy with the product and appreciate having enough shampoo for several washes!
