For cable TV and antenna, no need to switch between TV Sound and Optical/Digital output on our Samsung TV. Watching cable or an app, like Netflix, it only works on TV sound.We leave it on TV Sound. If TV speakers are not wanted just select mute or turn volume down on the TV. Volume from the box remains as set.

An item I didin't know I needed when I bought a new headset. I now get great sound when watching TV. Basically just plug and play.

I got this unit brand new and when it was installed it didn't work at all. The fact that I wasted my time running wires and cable for this device and it didn't even work is the biggest issue. Save yourself time and money and find another brand that works.

Nicely packaged, all parts present and in xlnt condition. Worked perfectly on my new TV that doesn't have analog audio out but which is needed to feed my wireless headsets. Nicely made with snazzy aluminum case.Volume control works well. Output fidelity is xlnt. Am using optical input with no problems.All good!

easy set up and it finally made my surround sound speakers to the tv work.

Setup of converter was simple enough. However I was flying blind on resetting the Samsung's audio controls. I don't have a smart TV and was installing this for a friend who had no owner's manual. There were 2 settings that needed to be changed to PCM. Thank goodness for Google on the PC.

Works great! This fixed my problem with my new wireless analog headphones hooking up to my Samsung Smart TV digital plug in. I would reckon mend this product for anyone who has problem with analog todigital plugins.

I wish it came with a plug (had to buy my own) and cables for sound (fortunately I had some) but it does work great. My girlfriend had a newer TV with a very old receiver and sound system. She hadn't been able to use the speakers and receiver ever since she got the newer TV.Once we hooked up this little box to the TV's digital output and connected the right and left sound cables to her old receiver - viola! we had great sound coming from her old (but expensive) receiver and speakers.========Update: 4 weeks later the box was broken and no longer worked to get the sound from the TV to the Reciever. Too late for a return of course.This is the solution if you have that funny digital/optical output for sound and an older piece of equipment that only takes the old style left/right sound cables.(As a note - we had to go into settings on her TV and switch the sound from "TV" to "Sound System" to get the sound to go out the digital cable, it took a minute to figure that out, but once we did that it worked great.
