I had no idea you could key a padlock to match the vehicle key. I love it! One key for everything. Definitely a must have!

This is a great lock. It offers good security and most of all it makes things simple. I have the cable lock securing a spare tire on the front of my trailer. Since I pull the large trailer with my truck I always have the key to open the lock since its the same as the truck ignition. The only issue will be when I get a new truck I will need a new lock to keep things simple.

No issues. Liked the ability to use your own car's key for the locking /unlocking feature. Seems quality made. Used to lock spare Tire on underside of Gladiator. Good length of cable to allow for optimal positioning/access of lock. Would recommend!

Even though the Amazon compatibility algorithm AND manufacturer compatibility chart BOTH said it would not work for my vehicle, I can gladly say that IT IS COMPATIBLE with my 2008 Scion xB. If you are unsure whether your Toyota key will be compatible, go to the Bolt manufacturer website and check the compatibility chart- there are picture examples of the keys that work with each lock. Look carefully at the placement of the grooves that run the length of the key and compare your key to the example pictures. You may find that even though the compatibility charts say it isn't compatible, it may still be (but YMMV).Programming the lock was too easy, just insert your ignition key, and turn until it no longer turns, back it off, and remove. It really is that simple. Now I don't have to carry so many lock keys, and I can start buying more of these Bolt locks to replace all the different padlocks, cable locks, and hitch-pin lock keys that I have to carry around now. THIS IS SUCH A BRILLIANT AND INGENIOUS IDEA! Time will tell as to the reliability, but I will come back and update if these locks become unreliable

Do lots of RVing and camping. The Bolt series of products are a convenient alternative to the headache of using and carrying multiple keys. I own and use the Bolt Hitch lock, cable lock, trailer pin lock & pad locks. All are quality products and work flawlessly. Very satisfied with my purchases.

Using the emergency key off of my key fob for this means I never lose the key. I have this cable to lock up my generator in the bed of the truck and two of the hitch versions one for the front of my truck for my winch one for the ball on the back.

You will not find an easier or better lock company around

I previously bought the Jeep JK hook lock and it works well. The keying of the lock worked fine. It won't stop a pro-thief but they might look somewhere else. Nice having only one key.

Nice hefty lock mechanism with pliable end cap to seal out weather. Setting the lock to my '05 Nissan Xterra key was easy. I used my less-used ignition key to set the lock and it works fine with both keys. Strong spring action keeps the lock in the locked position except when applying turning pressure to unlock, and it can be locked without the key. The only downside is that it needs two hands to unlock it against the spring action and a third hand to pull the lock from the cable, but that is not a major problem.Hopefully its ability to withstand a theft attempt will never be put to the test!NOTE: THE PHOTO NOW SHOWING (April 2019) FOR THIS ITEM IS NOT THE ITEM I THAT PURCHASED.
