Biomutant - PlayStation 5

My partner liked the game, amazon delivered in time and found my house ( it's hard to find as irs very out the way) we did send it back as we found it for free on psn for the monthly free game. But definitely had nothing to do with the game itself.

I know you should never pay attention to the games media and their pile-on, pick-apart attitude to anything not AAA but I did and here I am, almost 2 years after release, banging the drum for Biomutant.It’s great.Engaging and (especially on the PS5) visually impressive with some awesome boss battles and oodles of content to keep you happy for a very long time.I do have a few very minor niggles but the positivity I feel towards this game totally crushes any negativity.I really love the way the game difficulty keeps pace with your levelling, such a simple but rare trait in most of today’s games. I love side questing and exploring in all games so am usually overlevelled for later story missions. (I’m looking at you God of War: Ragnarok) It’s so refreshing to find that not happening here.It IS certainly far too easy on “normal mode” but I switched up to “hard” and it’s still a lot of fun without being too much of a walkover.This game is all about exploration, loot and crafting your own unique weapons and gear loadouts. It’s silly and fabulous with a huge variety of mounts and vehicles to find, tame, buy or construct. There’s a wealth of character creation choices and each will define how you play the game but no character build is ever redundant.There is also a light/dark path choice to many encounters. Your decisions will shape your character, their “powers” and how other characters treat you.Ignore the “Wung-Fu” at your peril. It’s what makes the combat fun.Great fun and deserves much better press than it initially received.Recommended.
