Works well
Works very well for old, crumbly clay. A little goes a long way. Best way I’ve found to use it is to cut the clay in little pieces and apply the product, mix well with the clay and roll into a ball. Leave for a few hours or overnight and clay is soft and workable again. Only thing is it has a really strong smell so I’d advise adequate ventilation during use.

Has saved me a fortune!
I don't know what "sturdiness" has to do with this product, but I've given it 5* for this category with the intention of it reflecting "effectiveness".This has probably saved me over £100 by rejuvenating a box full of Fimo that is over a decade old. It has taken some elbow grease and a fair amount of time, but where I had chalky, crumbly clay that most people would have rightfully thrown out, I now have silky, malleable vibrant clay - and it cures up perfectly.I figured I had nothing to lose by trying this product out, and I am incredibly impressed. A careful approach is needed in adding the oil, little at a time, working it into diced clay. I also needed to use metal tools to mulch and manipulate the composition, just to make it a little easier on the hands - like I said; elbow grease! - but it has worked miracles. I now don't have to try and replace clay that has at least a 75% markup on what I paid originally. So happy that I gave it a go, and can get back into an old hobby that I really enjoyed for a fraction of the cost.

Fantastic product
Bought this to rejuvenate some very hard and crumbly 12 year old Super Sculpey and Fimo, both of which were in opened packets and had been lying in a cupboard for years. It took a fair bit of work, but the result was good as new clay which was easy to work with and baked perfectly. With rock hard, crumbly clay, I tried several methods, both of which worked. Method one was using a scalpel to slice up the clay into manageable chunks, putting it through a pasta roller and adding the clay softener to the resulting mass of crumbs. Method two was crushing the dried out clay in a bag and adding softener. Both then required a LOT of kneading, rolling and use of the pasta roller, adding more softener when I thought it was needed. The result was worth it though. I have bought a load of new clay, but it's pleasing to be able to use up this old stuff first.

A bit difficult to make old clay soft, even ...
A bit difficult to make old clay soft, even with this product, as I have problems with my hands. But it does eventually bring back the old clay.

It brought seven year old Super Sculpey back to life
I had a nice collection of Super Sculpey that I had to stop using for health reasons. Fast forward seven years and I'm now a few operations in and getting back to having the ability to work with my hands again. So, of course, I tried my seven year old clay which was air tight sealed but as I'm sure you can guess, it was crud. Just fell to pieces, wouldn't condition up into workable clay anymore. So I ordered this as really a gamble. I didn't expect it to save clay that old but I'm happy to tell you, it did! The clay needed a lot of this stuff and it needed a few days to really sink in. For small amounts, I'm sure that's not a problem but I was working with pound blocks. The clay is probably better now than when I first bought it. It's super sculpey but softer and easier to condition. Probably too soft for super fine work but that's easy to fix by leeching oil back out of it with paper towel. So TL;DR This stuff works beautifully. No smell, no side effects.Note : I'm aware you can use other oils that you buy for use in the kitchen but I do wonder just how good those are in the long run after curing your work. I'd hate to work for a year on sculptures then they all start falling apart because of some impurity or the type of oil use. Here I'm feeling confident that this is the absolute correct substance to use. So I'm willing to pay for that. Will buy more when I need another bottle.

Best purchase I've made in a while.
This is amazing stuff, it helped me revive 30 year old dried up crumbling Fimo, 18 bars revived and saved and I still got over 90% of the bottle left, a little goes a real long way. One of my most recommended purchases. A*A*A*

Does exactly what it says
It helps soften the clay and is able to make mould into whatever shapes i want. You only need to use a small amound and i highly reccomend to use if you use SuperSulpey firm.
