Great Gaming Experience for Wii U
Disney Infinity 3.0 for Wii U is incredible. The packs are a bit confusing, but the overall gaming experience is great. The adventure packs, like the Lego series of games, follows the path of the movies the pack is related to. The confusing part is the trying to figure out which pack and do what. That is the one complaint about the system. Disney does a horrible job explain how the kits work. The instructions at come with the starter kit are surprisingly helpful. In a nutshell, if you want to play a campaign type game you need a play set pack. You can them add on figures (lets you play that figure) or add enhancement packs that give you additional vehicles and or abilities. All of which are placed on the sensor pad that comes with the starter kit.If you have a character figure, but not the play set, you can use that figure in the Toy Box. The toy box is an area of the game where you can basically make whatever kind of world you want. The plus side of the toy box you can use characters from other sets such as Disney's Inside Out with say, Star Wars. The game is great and challenging enough that an adult will like it, but not so difficult that a kid can't figure it out.

No issue so far; Star Wars crazy kids are loving it
My kids are Star Wars crazy and they were thrilled to get this for Christmas. They've been thoroughly enjoying it. I also got the Star Wars Amazon-exclusive bundle so they have quite a number of players to choose from. So far Asoka Tano is the favorite.I've played some with them and it didn't take long for me, a life-long gamer, to pick up how to use it. One thing that constantly annoys me about the game however is that I have to control my player's point-of-view when I am moving. It would be nice once moving if it would automatically swing the point-of-view to the direction my character is moving. If I am trying to move in other than a straight line I have to adjust my movements and point-of-view at the same time. Other than that though, I found the controls easy to use, especially when flying through space (my favorite part). We haven't run into any glitches yet. It does take a long time for scene changes to load. That doesn't seem to be limited to this game however. I have seen this behavior with other Wii U games as well. Nintendo's outdated use of optical drives is to blame here IMHO. There should be a way to cache the whole game internally with how cheap NAND is these days.If your kids are Star Wars fans they will love it and you might even like playing along too.
