Handy piece of kit - Wiha quality !

So hand when working at height, one driver does it all.Only downside is the bit holders are a bit flimsy and can break off. Had to get a replacement which was done with ease.

This is the 3rd WIHA compact VDE screwdriver set that I have purchased in the last 12 months because the lightweight, compactness and practical usefulness are just perfectly balanced.This holds 6 bits which covers 99.9% of my electrical service use on the panels, sockets and plugs, including work on commercial and industrial machineries. Unbeatable compactness.There's a 0.01% chance the bit isn't long enough to reach recessed fasteners deep within a tiny hole. The connection latch on the driver's shaft may be too wide to go into those tiny holes.

I love Wiha and almost exclusively use them. This however, works fantastic, I love the slimline bits and quick change and pop up holder. But I’m on my second one already. First one I popped open too fast? And it fell apart in my hands after not even a week of using it. I’ve been a lot more careful this time around but I’m still cautious with it. It doesn’t feel as well built as their other gear. Not bad but not great.

This product might be really good for someone doing DIY, but as an electrician that uses a screwdriver nearly everyday, the latches that keep the bits inside the screwdriver just isn’t robust enough.When I first bought this product, after a week I noticed one of the latches had come off, and the inner compartment was opening a lot while in use, very annoying, returned the product for a new one hoping this was a one off, but the replacement lasted about 3 weeks before the same happened again, going to just keep the bits as spare because they are compatible with Wiha’s other product that’s a pouch, I’ll be using the pouch again from now on, I really like this idea, but the execution just wasn’t quite there.

I read a few reviews before ordering, a few people said the one they received was different to the one in the picture. Mine is identical to the picture, I like the locking mechanism for the bits, although I think newer versions may not have this, and that's something to do with the VDE approval, and the newer ones use an O ring system to keep the bits in place just like the speedy version I have.The quality seems very good, as you would expect from wiha, and feels well made with nice materials, the pop up system is nice as well, the handle is a little chunky again similar to my speedy driverTime will tell on how it will stand up on the building site, but after having reservations from reading some reviews, I am glad to say it's a quality tool.

The idea is good. Grip is comfortable and you can get good purchase on it. A good selection of bits for the majority of tasks. The in-built bit storage however adds a considerable amount of length to the screwdriver, making work inside cupboards awkward at times.But beware. It's not robust enough to survive any sort of drops. The retaining clips don't work anymore and I cannot see and replacements. And if you're screwdriver is in your work pockets and it comes out, which happens a lot, you could spend an age trying to fish it out.

Had one for 3 months and only used it a dozen times, went to pull a screwdriver bit out of the magazine and the holder came with it.
