smaller than expected
i thought 1L would be more than it is i guess. its a well made real-leather water skin, however i decided i'd get a 1.5L after seeing how small this one is. the red rope on this isn't as appealing as the leather straps on other water skins, and the strap is quite short, however the 2nd water skin i bought has a similar length leather strap so its not a fault. a point in this item's favour is that is doesn't smell as bad as others do. some skins have a strong smell from the pig skin leather, and a strong smell (and taste in the water) from the plastic bag the inside consists of.and as a side note on the taste the bag gives to water: funnel some baking soda into the bag, then fill with water and leather for however long you think is right. come back to it, empty & rinse, then fill with clear water to test the taste. if its still strong repeat until the taste goes.

Do not recommend purchasing, interior contains DHEP which carries a health risk. I won't be drinking from mine.

great bag
had to have one or two uses to get rid of initial plastic taste, so far has not leaked can be hard to fill but holds drinks at temperature well and great for the rustic look

Contains DHEP which is banned as a carcinogen in EU
I was shocked to receive this and see a warning that it contains DHEP, a chemical banned in the EU since 1999 as a carcinogen and teratogen. There was no information to this effect available prior to purchase or I would not have ordered it. Glad the warning was there, but should not be for sale.

You can taste the rubber on the bag inside, in spite of washing it out many times, should have returned it but it came from Spain via the states, so too much hassle

Great bang for buck.
Don’t listen to the haters. This is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made in my life. Does the job and more, if there is something a you don’t like about it, you can easily make a quick update to make it suit your needs l.For the $8 I would 100% recommend. If it breaks after heavy use then just get another one 😅
