Great lock!
It's working well so far! Easily secures my bicycle, and the bicycle hasn't disappeared yet. Kryptonite locks are known for their quality, and this chain does not disappoint. If you read the numerous detailed reviews or watch videos about this specific chain lock they all come to the conclusion that this specific one is a great value providing enough security, and that is absolutely correct. It's easy to use, and the key inserts and rotates easily with no binding. This is a very good chain lock and I'm extremely pleased with it.

Best for 1 bike
Worth the price to have some piece of mind while my bike is in the parking g garage. This is perfect for 1 bike. You MIGHT be able to lock up to but it would be a struggle

A Gold rated.lock.for public places
The lock and chain work well. I can wrap the padded chain around my waist for trips to the store and I feel secure locking up the bike for short periods. It’s also great for locking the bike on my carrier during travel, but I arrange overnight stops at areas where I can bring.my bike inside or camp near my bike.I have to laugh at myself. Although I've owned a couple of really expensive bikes over the years, I never really worried about theft. I used combination cable locks or cheap Locks that were good enough protection. This was in the days before battery-powered diamond cutter wheels. When I bought an electric mountain bike last year, I found out how easy it was to defeat almost all locks. I now need a lock that will slow someone down when stealing my emtb bike during short exposure in a public place. This lock fits my needs and has been recommended as Gold rated, except in isolated locations for.long periods.

ok, this sucker is heavy... but I am using it to lock up a $6000.00 bike. hard to pick key and harden chain..I think this will stand a good chance protecting my gear from the bad guys.I only gave this 4 stars only because of the weight...

Great bike lock
This is the first big investment in securing my bike. I am using this on a $210 Huffy so I feel like this lock being almost half the value of the bike makes sense, and the build quality of the look seems pretty good. That said I will not be truly putting it to the test, and I hope it is never tested by any would be bike thieves. As for the function well it comes with two keys one has a small blue LED to light it up in the dark. I am going to say right now mine didn't really work so I removed the LED for a project, and the key does key things:P As for the lock its self. Well it weighs around 6lbs or double my $17 Kryptonite lock. The chain is a lot thicker than said lock, and the lock has a much better shackle/locking lug. There are pros and cons to that. the main one is you have to unlock the lock before you can lock the chain in place, or you have to leave the key in as you feed the chain through the bike rack. The cheap model you just shove the chain in while the lock is in the lock position and you're good to go. That said I'll take the slightly clunky nature of the evolution series 4 any day for the security it adds. All in all I'd say if you need a nice lock pick this one up. it is heavy, and clunky at times, but you have to ask if your investment into your bike is worth it. For me it was a no brainer since I use my bike as my primary transportation, and I'd rather spend $90 for a nice lock than $210 for a replacement bike. My other complaint would be this before I forget. this lock isn't super long so it only really works on one bike so riding partners will need their own lock, and the main thing that this only really fits bike racks, or thinner objects it wouldn't fit around a tree or street light for example, or at least I haven't been able to make that work.

THIS LOCK IS A LIFESAVER
I'm not going to lie, this lock is pretty heavy to carry around but it saved me $2500. Whatever you're locking up, make note that length of the lock is pretty short so you sometimes have to get creative. I recommend watching their "HOW TO USE THIS LOCK" video on their website for correct locking procedures. My bike was stolen in the middle of the night with this lock on my bike. It was left unattended for about 8 hours in San Diego outside my AirBnB in a shady area. When I awoke in the morning, GONE. Also make note that when filing your claim with Kryptonite you must provide them with a picture of the broken lock. If the thieves take the lock, you're screwed. You must also provide them with a picture of the original key and picture of a police report (must be filed within 7 days of theft).Thankfully, I had all of the required items. My bike was stolen on 06/10/2023 and I finally received reimbursement approximately 2 months later. It is a lengthy process and I did have to call customer service a few times to get the ball rolling but it was obviously worth it.I did purchase the 5 year coverage through Kryptonite which is extra $ but the lock comes with an automatic 2 year warranty already.I did buy another lock and highly recommend this specific lock which covers up to ~$3000. There are other Kryptonite locks that are cheaper but provide less coverage so check their website to find the lock appropriate for you.
