Allen Sports Deluxe 3 Tailgate Bike Carrier

I bought this carry 2 bikes, but decided on getting the 3 bike option.Very good quality and easy to follow instructions on how to fit and secure.It took me about 15 minutes to fit the frame and load 2 bikes. Had no issues.After driving for about 15 minutes, I stopped to check that it was safe and secure, again no issues with it coming lose or needing adjustment.Highly recommended product, great value and quality. Along with this I purchased a couple of smaller straps to secure the bike wheels to there frames and stop movement whilst travelling, I recommend doing this as it adds to the stability and security of the bikes.

Easy to Install, not sure about fitting 3 bikes yet. Will have to try. Also not sure how a full suspension bike would fit. Maybe have to buy the crossbar adapter. Very sturdy. The straps are very long so I used them to secure the bike even more.

This bike carrier is very good value for money when compared to alternatives offered in traditional bike shops. The build is sturdy, there is plenty of room for three big bikes and they are held securely. The installation is quick once you have the lengths needed for the straps with your car and just need slight tightening each time to create a sturdy fit.The only downside is that if there is any give in the side straps - especially if fixed on to a saloon, the metal hooks have the potential of scraping off some of the paint. This can be avoided by making sure the fastening is tight. The manufacturers really could do with putting a very thin layer of rubber on the underside of these hooks. It would remove this risk and make the installation even sturdier.Overall, a great buy and definitely one I'd recommend with the caveat mentioned above.

Brought this bike rack as was cheaper to take our own bikes to centre parcs than hire them. It's for 3 bikes but we only used it for two. felt really sturdy on the car and kept all the bikes in place, we checked it regularly on our journey and it didn't budge! Just have to be mindful that the bikes protrude over the sides of the car so you're a wider load.

First impressions - I love this bike rack!I’ve had quite a few various ones in the past - one similar to this but cheaper and flimsy, and a couple of roof bars but will never use again as a clip failed on one of them and I found my bike fallen over the side on top of my car while on the motorway, tho luckily had heard it and pulled over.This is perfect for my Suzuki Ignis, tho I imagine it would fit a wide range of cars nicely.The side clips currently hook on to the glass portion of my windscreen, so I’ll be getting foam pads for them. No biggy.The boot can still be opened without problems which is good too.Some people have complained about the steel prongs which are said to fall out - I can assure you, they sit very firmly in the rack when ready to use, and as many objects, when folding the rack away out of use, you have to strongly push the prongs out and then Yh obviously they might fall out, but that’s expected. Just tie an elastic band around them when not in use to keep them in place if so worried about losing them. It has absolutely no negative affect on the rack when in use. You don’t need to have the bikes on the rack for the prongs to sit firmly in the frame.The fabric straps seem a little flimsy and will likely wear down over long period of use, but just keep checking them and replace them if needed as it’s standard strapping. Just as you would with anything else that uses a similar strapping system.This has made it so incredibly easy to pack our multiple bikes now. We generally take three - two road/TT bikes and a mountain bike.Perfect perfect perfect.I will update this review after months of use and longer wilder rugged journeys if there are any negatives found.But so far, it’s been exactly what we are looking for.Recommended definitely!

So glad I bought the one for 3 bikes as I can only get two on my sons bike just fits so no the best but ok and the bikes didn’t fall off!!

It is super value, easy to put on the car (Hyundai i40 saloon) and the bikes were very secure. Very happy with this product

Not amazing but it works great, just abit cheaply made on the buckles otherwise a 5 star. I would buy again as it's relatively cheap.
