Was sucked into this book and found it super interesting

For homeschool this year we are doing a deeper dive into Vikings and the Norse culture, and that includes their cosmology and belief system. THis book is a great overview for the everyday person. It is not overly technical or philosophical. I find it very very reader friendly and easy to understand. The book covers the Norse pantheon of gods and goddesses. There is also discussion of their beliefs and myths. There is a book that covers runes and how they are used in the teachings. Another book looks like Asatru as a further discussion of how the Norse faith evolves. I enjoyed reading this book and found it useful in our studies.

Great work of books recommend to every one. The stories runes traditions and myths all worthy of praise. Order it.

The author does a good job of story telling but it's too much extra to be able to follow the actual information you're looking for. I wanted to learn historical facts and this book is more like retelling epic tales. It was a decent read but repetitive and I found myself getting bored with the superfluous amount of words the author added. Maybe he wanted to give his book more substance but I would rather get straight to the point.
