I'd been borrowing my friend's profession battery tester (he's a mechanic), and finally decided to get something for myself. The reviews were good for the TopDon, but I wasn't sure what to expect. I tested a bunch of batteries I had in different vehicles, and here are my impressions. I powers up immediately where my buddies took a little bit to startup (his had a bunch of modules for customer information which I don't need). Both could test the battery, the ability for it to crank and engine, and whether they were being charged properly by the alternator. Both his and the TopDon came to similar conclusions about battery health for all batteries tested (a couple were weaker than I'd expected (but it's summer, and haven't had a need for high CCA. One of the batteries on a car that sits was almost dead, and the TopDon was able to at least read the voltage where the screen on the professional one just flickered without data since there wasn't enough juice to run the device. It's got an intuitive interface, and I was glad it could test both spiral and flat plate AGMs since I own both Optima (spiral) and Evertstart (flat) AGMs. Seems to work well and meets my needs, not a bad little tool for my kit.

Purchased this tester since I wasn't sure if I had a battery going bad in one of my vehicles. I lent my friend my other battery for a project but he was out of town at the time when I needed mine. I purchased this one after looking around for a few minutes. It was on my door step in a few hours after purchase.Likes-Bluetooth enabled for smart device set up. I have the app on my phone but I could also use it on my tablet if needed. The BT allowed me to record a history of my tests so I could go back and verify the issue.-Ease of use. Very easy to set up and use. The menus are laid out nicely.-Tests different system besides the battery. You can check your charging system or starter. Very useful. With a smart device, it makes it even easier. Great for working inside the vehicle.-Records your data from previous tests when using the app.ConsNone.Great tool. Easy to use. Plenty of data over an old school carbon pile or basic battery tester. Yes those are simple but it is nice to have a capture record when the tester actually shows.

I’ve been searching for a battery tester for a while. As a mechanic I’ve had my share of diagnostic equipment and my thing is find that’s reliable, user friendly, and have a great customer service history if any issues occur. Since I purchased the device I was able to check my vehicle battery health , Charging system, and even check with a load on the engine to see it’s performance. The tester was able to do so and I was even able to text the results to myself for future reference. I was even able to help my neighbor with his vehicle having a no start in the morning. I text him the results with the app also. I found his battery was bad and he needed a new one. With all that the price was a no brainer. Fare price for a great product. I recommend to have this product at your tool box or vehicle. Great product! I hope this helps.

I bought this to use at work when I didn't need a full charging diagnostic on the car batteries. Works very well and the Bluetooth and app function have connected everything for me. Being able to use my phone for a full diagnostic scan and screen is a even better way to see what your doing then just the tester itself or just do the test on the handheld device itself if you don't have your phone so the dual capability is great. It also has a database for the used cars I work on just incase I can't determine the battery size as well. Overall this battery tester has been great so far and I would highly recommend it if you don't need a printed test sheet or you can also email them to yourself or your customer.
