Basic video doorbell
The outdoor unit is actually attractive and not too big and seems sturdy enough with the metal housing. The monitor is OK and that's where you connect the power, which in turn powers the camera. It comes with a cable, about 10' that will connect the camera/doorbell to the monitor. I ended up cutting this cable and connecting the leads to a 50' cat5 cable so I could place the units where I needed them. Be sure to get connectors to connect the leads to whatever cable you'll be using to extend. They do provide additional very short leads but these turned out to be less useful for my particular installation since the cat5 cable was thicker than the one provided and would not sit under the monitor. As it was, I used a pair of washers on each mounting screw to add further space between the back plate and the wall so there would not be too much pressure on the connector in the back of the monitor, since the cable had to run from the back of the unit along the wall. This would not be necessary if the cable ran inside the wall. The sound quality could be better - it's a little thin sound on both sides when speaking and it reminds me of a drive through. It's probably because the speakers are really tiny, kinda like a built in speaker in some 90's pc's. The camera does seem to have a wide angle lens which gives a good view of whoever is at the door and you can adjust contrast and color on the monitor. There are a variety of ring tones to choose from, but the sound again, is meh. But it is loud. Oh boy is it loud. It is a real doorbell. Luckily you have three settings - loud, louder and air raid. Setting the volume is a little tricky, so be sure to read the operation manual - which is another issue. The manual didn't appear to match the unit - particularly the monitor looked very similar, but not quite the same. However what you need it for is wiring and operating instructions. In this regard, the manual did not fail. I gave it five stars because the product delivered AT A REASONABLE PRICE POINT. However, there are not enough levels of adjustment for ring volume, the manual didn't match the pictures (...did I get the right product? ...the right manual?) the connectors in the back of the units mount perpendicular to the plane of the monitor (versus parallel which would reducing cable stress when cables are run ON and not IN the wall) and the sound quality is not great but it works. But if you can get around these issues and just need a straight up video doorbell with no wi-fi connectivity or anything else and you don't mind getting a little creative in the setup, this is a good little unit. Another plus is that you can add a second camera/door bell. Note that I'm not using the electronic door latch open function, which it also has.

Simple and effective, but you have to have a path for the wires.
I needed a way to see who is at the front door but I did not want to put a viewer through the door. I also did not want to use a smartphone device because I don't always have my phone when I answer the door. I also have no need for seeing who is at my door when I am not home. This device is quite simple. When someone presses the doorbell, the screen is activated and shows you who is at the door. I mounted it right next to my front door. I did not want a battery powered camera because I will forget to change the batteries. This device is powered by a cord that plugs into the wall and attaches to the back of the screen. Another cord comes out of the back of the screen and goes to the back of the camera. Therefore for this to work you have to have someway to route a wire from the outside camera to the back of the screen and from the back of the screen to an electrical outlet. Fortunately, the screen is on a wall which is shared by the garage, so it was no problem to make a hole in the back of the screen and have it go through the wall into the garage. For the outdoor camera unit, I made a hole through the wall and routed the wire around the top of the door frame, then into the garage and then into the back of the camera. I am going into detail here because you need to give some thought about how the wires will be routed. The user manual is poorly written and the illustrations don't completely match the layout of the outlets on the back of the screen. But it was not too hard to figure out where to attach the two wires.I like this device because it is simple, it works, and it is a lot less expensive than a "Ring" type system. The system can support two screens from one camera and can also support a door unlocking device.

Bought 2 of these doorbells, 1 is possessed and the other didn't turn on at all.
Bought 2 of these doorbells, the first didn't turn on at all after wired installation. The second installed easily and worked great, but it is possessed and rings by itself at all hours. It's for an apartment we own and it took us a long time after purchasing and installing to figure out THAT is where the weird distant mystery bells was coming from. We're way outside Amazon's return window. I emailed the manufacturer to see if they've fixed this issue (my husband saw it in other comments) and if so, if they can replace our possessed doorbell.

Mediocre Video Intercom with some drawbacks
It is a very basic unit. Camera quality is mediocre, night light\vision is mediocre. The aesthetics is mediocre on both, outdoor and indoor units. Controls are rough and do not work very well. Indoor speaker is way too loud and does not respond to the control. It required a substantial intervention in the circuitry to bring it to a somewhat acceptable level (control still does not do much). It requires relatively thick interconnect wires, the longer the run - the thicker the wire you need. Refer to the table and go one AWG size thicker. Conclusion: it works ok, but that's it. Do not expect a slick piece of technology.
