Optimum Nutrition Double Rich Chocolate Plant Protein Bar, 12 x 60g

I really like these protein bars as I struggle to find ones that are tasty and dairy free. The downside is they are expensive.

Indulgent yet nutritious these really do live up to their name of 'optimal nutrition'.The dark protein bar is delightful surprise that boasts a rich bittersweet taste accompanied by a velvety smooth texture.With 18g of protein they are a sure fire way to easily top up your protein for the day whilst being guilt free due to their low sugar content.When taking the first bite I was surprised at how nice these really are, in my opinion they are the perfect blend of chewy to crunch whilst not being too dense or bitty/sandy like lots of protein bars out there.I was only going to have a bite and save the rest for late but I could'nt resist finishing the whole bar in a matter of seconds.To slightly misquote 50 Cent in his song '21 questions', "I love these, like a fat kid loves cake".I've tried many protein supplements over the years from shakes, to bars, to granolas. Anything designed to be a snack to get extra protein in, I've tried it. These are honestly right at the very top of the list.The price is quite high but I think they're worth it.5 🌟I hope you find my review helpful.

awful once you bite through the outter skin of chocolate inside awaits ... basically dry grotty grit powder that has enough moisture absorbing ability to drain a bath

I tried the Double Rich Chocolate Plant variety and I’m pleased with the taste and texture.In terms of nutrition data they are similar to other protein bars from other main brands, I do use protein bars frequently. This specific bar selection is less chewy than other bars from other brands and this one also has some crunchiness when biting which I prefer.They taste good (for a protein bar with low fat), individually well packaged. The current price of £29.99 is a few pounds cheaper than other main brands RRP but I usually buy only when I see discounted offers so the price factor is up to you.Note, the ingredients contain xylitol which is a common sweetener found in many food products, so nothing special for human use (used in anything from some peanut butter spreads to toothpaste), but xylitol is toxic for dogs, so don’t share this bar with your dog👍
