Very nice book
Very nice book filled with a multitude of pictures, haven't read the whole book but flicked through managing to find bits I wanted fairly quickly so a good overall book for beginners but also competent bonsai keepers.Apart from the pictures, there is a lot of good advice, well laid out, and easy to understand even for a complete novice. The only thing that could be improved is the size, the book is rather small, a little bigger than pocket size I would say, so the text is quite small but nonetheless a very good informative book.

Exactly what it says on the tin... book.
Brilliant little guide if you are looking for new tree's to bonsai, details on how to keep them alive and what conditions the individual tree species prefer. It pretty much covers every kind of tree you'd expect and more. (from pines to exotic fruit tree's)There's a photo and plenty of detail for each tree, covering climate, soil types, when to prune and pot. (about 2 pages a tree).I will say it is absolutely no use as a 'how to make and create' bonsai's guide. There's a brief mention of wiring and pruning, but It barely covers any skills and techniques to making a bonsai. The book is literally a guide for choosing tree's to use. In a sense, its like a detailed tree catalog.Good book!

pretty book no detail
This book has bible in the title so I expected a description and photographs of style of bonsai and the wiring and trimming that achieve these styles. The book is just a pictorial guide to types of tree. Each tree has a couple of pages describing the region the it grows in as a native, a picture of said tree and warnings about the temperature conditions. The pictures are good and the descriptions are clear but the book is more a catalogue guide about choosing than growing, wiring and style.
