Yes they are nonslip as the sole has for grooves that provide a good grip on slippery and wet surfaces

Q: Are the heels actually higher than the rest of the sole? Side pic looks like it is & arched, but many shoes are actually flat for the foot regardless!

They were a horrible fit and hurt my feet! The side bit where it’s arched is where it hurt! They kind of curved somehow....not a good shoe!
