DAC Mid - Size Truck Tent by Dac Inc.-Vehicle Tents

Ford Maverick isn’t listed as a compatible pickup for the DAC mid-size tent but I decided to roll the dice and buy it anyway. Used it this weekend and it fits perfectly. 5 minutes to put it up, 3 minutes to take it down. I am super impressed with the quality and ease.

Just got this for christmas and finally gout around to putting it on today. Fits my 2001 Dodge Dakota perfectly, like it was made for it. Took like 3 minutes to put it on the first time. I used a small strap to hold the door horizontal and than put to on extend all the way to the front. Then pulled the bottom out and down under tailgate, done. Attached bungees. I saw where people complained about gap a side of tailgate but I put the bungee under the tail gate and straight across. ( some videos I saw the going under the truck/bumper ) on my truck a small one inch gap easily fit with a small piece of fabric. Looks built well and should last. I will be putting a pool noodle are something around the glass (especially the cornes) for extra protection.

We used this on our 2003 Element for 2 nights camping and it worked great! Easy to put up & take down. The lifted door would drop a bit through the night but that is b/c of the door, not due to the tent weighing on it. Next time we'll bring a cut 2x4 to keep the top from dropping. (We also didn't tie the front bungies to the side of the car @ the front doors. Instead we wrapped them back through the rack on top of the car. This way we could still enter & leave the car by the doors.) The only time we had issues w/ the zippers is if we were trying to close the canvas w/o closing the inner screen. This is a great purchase for a horizontal split back vehicle when you want better air movement (like we did sleeping in the car), easy access to the back, and an additional 3-4 feet of space inside (we used that extra space to put the dog bed @ the foot of our bed.)

I was on the fence about buying this as I saw a lot of the reviews had trouble with the fit and their installs just looked... shoddy. I went ahead and pulled the trigger because there is really nothing else out there quite like this setup. I'm super happy I did! I bought the mid-size and it fits perfectly on my 2014 Tacoma with an ARE Shell.One note: on the box it said my generation of Tacoma would require the full size version, but I went with the mid size based off of a few reviews here. It was the right choice. I also found the fitting to be pretty flexible, meaning I think I this would still work with a high top. I'm planning on getting roof racks at some point and I'm pretty sure this will work just fine over the top of them.The installation was a breeze, the price was nice, and the quality of the materials is great. I have a feeling I'll be getting a lot of use out of this!

Too small for my f150

This is a great solution to truck camping. I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma with a 5ft short bed and the mid-size one fits like a glove. It takes less than 5 minutes to install and even less time to break down. It's super easy to get back into the bag. I like that. I found it easy to install, however, the instructions could use a diagram or three for some people less familiar with outdoor gear. At first I found it a bit pricey. After all I can get a tent that uses more material for around half the price. But, after using it I can see the value in this truck camping innovation. Final note: the pictures in the item description do not do it justice. It looks much better on my truck ;).

This product is great in theory. It fit my 2013 Toyota Tacoma fairly well, if a little big. I was generally pleased but the zipper is cheap and immediately broke, even with very careful use. I would've been happy with an exchange, but I have gotten absolute silence from this seller. The tent may be alright from other sellers but I do not recommend this one.
