This lightened my darker, previously dyed hair into a gorgeous golden light auburn brown—my hair really takes well to that pigment. I’m honestly so impressed. The color looks super natural and even, which surprised me since my bangs are very porous and usually turn out darker than the rest of my hair. Somehow this dye gave me a consistent result all over.I’m surprised it lightened my hair because it did seem quite damaged, so I didn’t think it was possible. I love the golden hue of this dye— it’s such a flattering tone. On top of that, my hair feels soft and healthy. With the ammonia-free Revlon, my hair always felt like straw and seemed more damaged afterward. But this dye left my hair feeling soft, not brittle, and that makes me so happy.It’s been about a week since I colored, and my hair still looks and feels great—no signs of the usual damage I’d expect after dyeing with revlon. This formula must be much gentler (though of course everyone’s hair can react differently I suppose?)I got the shade 7N and I truly love it. Please never change this formula, L’Oréal—it’s perfect!

Love it! I was using a more expensive dye and paid $35 for here on Amazon and it kind of made my hair coarse and unmanageable. Then I decided to go to a less expensive one and I tried this and my hair is soft and amazing and the color is the lasting. I suggest you buy it.

I am so happy with this L'Oreal Paris hair color. It looks so great, and I've received so many compliments—people have even asked me if I had it done at a salon! It's a fantastic product that gives a professional look right at home.

My favorite “box” hair color of all time.I have used L’Oréal for years, all the different types, and colors, but I decided to see how much lift I could get without bleach, and time my white hairs blonde. this is by far my favorite formula of all time for that purpose.My hair is naturally dark brown, but is now salt and pepper with a lot of salt around my face.As you can see, the level of lift I get with this non ammonia formula is surprising. The neutral toning really works and is unlike anyone other. My hair is soft and healthy.Love how it blends my colors so naturally. Gives a hint of gold, but that is to be expected with lightening dark hair. It is no where near the orange shade that other formulas give.I use N7.

I couldn't afford to continue with salon prices. So i went back to the box colors. This is my favorite without a doubt. My only issue really is that is doesnt cover the greys as it says on the box. Or at least not all of them. Other than that, I love the way it leaves my hair looking natural and soft.

This dye covered all my gray hair. And I thought it wouldn't work because my hair is very thick and voluminous! But it worked perfectly! Color 5.0

My hair got darker, not lighter, which I don't understand. My hair was dark brown and after using this looks black. The color on the box is no where close to the color it turned my hair. I did like the conditioner as it left my hair soft, but there was a smell that lingered in my hair that perfume would not eliminate.

I have been dying my hair at home for about 8 years now and L'oreal Paris Excellence is the one color I always rely on for even color and tone. Well, I was watching TV the other night and saw this ammonia free one advertised, so I ordered it to try. One thing I've always hated about hair color is that nasty, strong smell of ammonia. This product is a Godsend! Covers grays beautifully and there is no ammonia smell. Talk about winning! You seriously have to try it to believe it!
