Trefl Spy Guy Board Game Detective Game, Searching for Evidence and Catching Criminals, Large Game Board with a City, Family Game for Adults and Children from 5 Years Old

We have several of the Eye Found It! games, which my kids have enjoyed to varying degrees.This one takes the same where's-Waldo-esque item searching-combined-with-board-game-race formula, and tweaks it to:1) have the searches be for multiple copies of an item exactly as pictured on the card.2) provide an automated opponent you're trying to catch, as opposed to working to get to the end before other players or before a lose condition manifests.I consider these welcome changes, particularly #1 for many smaller children (and even myself sometimes, honestly) -- rather than having to try and look for different incarnations of a generically described category of item, everyone looks for items scattered around that look precisely like the one pictured on the card.The board artwork still managed to make for an engaging and varied scene to discover as you search through it for all the instances of that sock or little pirate boat or whatever is on the card.And then #2 is fun because hunting down a villainous mastermind can be a little more stimulating than trying to reach the end of the board before a tracker counts down in various ways, in the Eye Found It! games we've played. Those are nice too, and some are well-realized thematically, but it still feels different to see evil Dr. Mortiz fleeing from your sleuthing pursuit as you try to move more quickly than he does and reach him before he escapes off the end of the board.And of course that means this is a fully cooperative game, which many parents and kids appreciate having as an option.

This is a clever game of search-and-find. I like that it's cooperative and everyone wins or loses together.It's made for 1-4 players and I think it could be fun as an individual but especially in a group. Seems like it could be a good game for younger kids who are still learning how to play board games.The board is quite big but is easy to store since it's made up of folded pieces that fit together like a puzzle. A nice detail is that the pieces are numered on the back to help make it easier to put them together quickly (see picture).The cartoon pictures and cards are cute, colorful, and eye catching. it's busy with lots of things to search and find but not so busy it's hard to look at or dizzying.I like that they also include a page in the instructions telling you how many of a particular item are hidden in the board. Drawing cards to see what you're searching for would keep the game fresh and different every time you play.All in all, this is a clever family friendly game.

This game is a lot of fun for kids and adults. Instead of playing against each other, all the players are working together to catch the bad guy so it encourages team work. My family plays together but my kids (ages 10 and 7) are also able to play it without us because it has easy to follow rules. I also like that it has options to play a shorter version and a longer version. The short version only takes about 10 minutes and the long version takes about 20.

This boardgame is great for anyone who likes search and find games. The entire premise is searching for various items from selected cards in order to move forward to catch the evil doctor. There is enough variation in items that you won't easily memorize where everything is on the board. Not counting the deck of cards, there are only 10 blue chips and two game pieces. The limited number of pieces is appreciated. The game board connects like puzzle pieces and has numbers on the back to help installing correctly. It al fits back in its box with no issues. Definitely a unique game that my kids really enjoy.

This game is fairly well designed and laid out. Instructions are simple and easy to follow. What I loved about it was the simple, straightforward nature of the game. My daughter loves cooperative games, so it made for a fun family game night. The game-board itself was really simple to set-up as the pieces are labeled on the back. It’s not the highest quality material, but it’s not super delicate either. The only thing we didn’t love about the game was the timer! The timer is only 45 seconds long. We had two adults and one child playing and consistently lost the game until we concluded we really needed about two timers worth of time to get any forward momentum. I think with enough practice we would probably stand a chance of winning if the timer were at least a minute. But, remember, this is supposed to be a kids’ game! Ideally, I think the timer should be closer to two minutes, or the age range should be higher. Otherwise, I noticed that my kid (and probably others) lost interest quickly because it’s discouraging to only find one or two of the items before the timer runs out. Overall, I’d say get the game if your family is a fan of cooperative games but be prepared to tweak the rules otherwise your kiddo(s) may lose interest fast.

Our kids (age 8 and 6) enjoyed playing this fun and simple game. It is very easy to start and the premise is to work together to find clues on the board before the bad guy can escape. Very similar to Where’s Waldo. The game board is quite large so it’s best for a group of 3 or 4. The timer runs pretty quick so with young kids you may want to use it twice for each turn. Overall a fun and simple game that encourages cooperation over competition.

This is a terrific game and team effort is the key. The one to four players are using skills like those practiced in books where the challenge is to find certain small items within very busy picture pages. The jigsaw puzzle-style game board contains a path, with lots of tiny pictures all around it that players search through. The game includes a villain, detective, clues, clue markers to cover the pictures as they are found, and a timer. The instructions are clearly written and the game pieces are sturdy. Gather some kids and see if you can stop "Dr. Moritz" before he escapes.
