Brilliant, simple to follow recipes
Love the variety of dishes and the simple to follow steps in this book. The chaat salad is yummy and goes amazingly well with some tandoori chicken (or the oven baked chicken kebabs in this book).

Easy to understand and recipes that you can easily find ingredients
This book is interesting and has ingredients that you either have or can buy at most super markets . It’s a really helpful book . The recipes are good as most give you an alternative if you don’t have something fresh in , it’s explains how much you should use in dry ingredients ( I’ve shown this in the photo with chilli ) There is even a page on how to cook the best rice which I found really helpful . I recently bought another popular curry book but found it so complicated and unable to buy some of the ingredients even though I live in a big diverse city . This is book is easy to follow and makes tasty uncomplicated dishes .

The best curry book I have owned - ever!
The best curry book I have owned - ever! I live in France - and after 10 years of living in Lyon, I have yet to find a half decent curry. There are so many good recipes in this book, I don't know where to start! All really easy - and no difficult to find ingredients (even in France). I have just made "Mum's Chicken Curry" - utterly delicious - thick, rich and so moorish. It is not just curry mains - there are so many other fab recipes - sides, salads, chutneys. bread etc. I also bought Meera Sodha's other book - "Fresh India". Just as good. I am about to also order a copy of this for my vegetarian daughter. These two books are really all you need to make all the most delicious curries. Mostly, I have get recipes off the interweb, but it is so nice to have these two hard cover books. Beautifully printed with loads of lovely pictures. Love all the anecdotes too - written with warmth and humour. Don't waste your time getting this on a Kindle - you need the books!

Great and relatively easy recipes
Very good recipes (those that I have tried) and usually easy to follow. Also, not too hard to find the ingredients - or at least easy to find substitutes. Many great vegetarian choices and both familiar staples and variations on standards here. Highly recommended!

I LOVE this cookbook!
I had this in my wishlist for a while, and I'm so glad I bought it on a whim. Have been using this book for meals this week, and they have all been easy and delicious. I have made the coriander chicken curry (delicious!), fish in coriander and coconut parcel, spiced cabbage, aubergine curry, prawns with garlic and mustard seeds and chaat salad. There are so many more recipes I want to try, most recipes look really do-able without any fancy prep or gadgets (I do have a mini blender which helps) and I can see me using this book very regularly for midweek meals and weekend meals alike. I will be buying her other cookbooks too, she writes in a brilliant easy to understand way. Also love the bright colours and photos, this book would make a great gift too.

My favourite Indian cookery book.
I have lots of Indian cookery books but this is my favourite. All the recipes I have tried are delicious but rather than taking ages to prepare with a very long list of ingredients, the dishes are quick and straightforward enough to make for midweek meals using store cupboard ingredients.

A Must Buy - Cannot Recommend Enough!
Best book on Indian cookery I've ever bought! Simple, clear, understandable recipes with detailed explanations for things that people who don't do Indian cooking may not understand or know - that's so helpful! Extremely easy methods to follow, Meera's book never leaves the kitchen now!Lovely stories behind the recipes too which somehow make them more enjoyable, especially knowing that these are eaten by Indian families, they really are authentic! I've made 7 recipes so far - all have been delicious but the staple in our house is the Worker's Curry which we are now eating almost every night - I make others and have a few spoons to go with it.Best of all I don't have to have a cupboard full of 100s of different spices using only a pinch of each of them which has happened to me in the past with other Indian cookbooks. This book is a must - I loved it so much I bought one for a friend too

Easy, quick and tasty meals every time.
I have over a hundred cookery books, many of them about Indian cookery, but I have always been annoyed by long lists of obscure and expensive ingredients and prolonged cooking times. This one is genuinely different. Every single recipe has easy to source ingredients and most of the recipes can be cooked within half an hour, which is great when you are trying to juggle homework with hungry children after school! I have made several curries and side dishes as well as condiments and all have been worth making again, which is not usually the case with most recipes. Last night I cooked a delicious salmon and spinach curry with coriander chutney and it was so easy. I feel as though I have finally learned how to cook authentic and healthy Indian food and for that, I am really happy, and so is my husband. To top it all off, the recipes are lovely to read, with interesting anecdotes and great photos. Thanks Meera!
