This was a great mattress at an even better price
I was in desperate need of a new Queen-sized mattress. My old one was purchased in Oct 2018 & had huge dips in it. The sides of the mattress were sloping off the sides bed, so I had to shove a pillow under the sides to raise it up. I was waking up achy & searched amazon. I've never bought a bed in a box for myself before & was nervous. I spent about 2 days searching & narrowed it down to this one & a name-brand I was unfamiliar with. I've tried mattresses out at Ashley store before, so felt more comfortable making this selection. It was on sale at the time & I liked the price. It arrived quickly, was packaged well, & inflated super quickly too. I didn't wait the recommended 24 hours, because i couldn't. My husband helped me get it on the bed around 11:30 am & I slept on it that night. It's much softer than I'd normally go for, but there's some support too. I'm mostly a side sleeper, and the first night was a rough night of getting used to it. It was comfortable, but I do find that we tend to feel pulled toward the center of the bed due to our weight. I woke in the middle of the night feeling warm & a little achy. However, I think that was just a period of adjustment. The 2nd night I slept well & the 3rd night I slept even better! It does have some bounce to it, so as one turns over, the other will feel it. I put a cooling mattress topper on it & that has helped tremendously! All in all, I'm surprisingly happy with this purchase & I hope the mattress holds up for some time. I'll come back later with an update, but so far I'm not seeing any dents in the mattress & I'm a large woman. I weigh 280 lbs.

Worth Every Penny Six Years and Going Strong!
I am a single woman who recently lost 200 pounds and my old mattress was wrecked, I needed a new one but didn't have a 1000 bucks for a new one. I'd been a loyal Spring Air Customer. So I did my homework and looked at mattresses in my local stores. The mattress you are looking at was the one I chose. For a Full Size it was 599 dollars plus tax from the store. I really didn't have it. I was going to finance it through the store. But, I kept thinking maybe I should check on Amazon first. I thought I might be able to save a few dollars. When I was able to get the very same mattress (no tax) delivered to my home for 190 dollars on the nose, well I clicked and bought it right away. I was scared of a bait and switch or maybe a counterfeit product I will admit. I could not have been more wrong, the mattress was the real thing and delivered to my home in two days. I will also sat it was heavy but I was able to wrestle it in the house and followed the instructions to open it. I was almost send through the wall when it "popped". Be careful, they tell you there is 2 layers of plastic to cut through and there is not. When you cut its going to pop out and start unfurling. So be ready for the expansion. The mattress came to full size almost immediately although I let it alone on the box springs all day and let it rise before putting linens on it. I let a fan blow on it all day but there really was not an odor. I've slept on it every night since 8-9-18 and couldn't be happier. No pain (and I have back troubles and fibromyalgia) and it looks wonderful. I have it on my box springs that are Spring Air and were in fine condition. Its firm but not so much it is painful or anything. I like it so far. I will occasionally come back if my opinion changes. I will be happy if this lasts a few years or longer. I have had this 2 years now and can't tell it has ever been used, a real value. Still a great matress after all this time 3/17/21; Still doing great 4 years later, my granddaughter sleeps over with me and says it's so comfy. Her dad bought the same mattress and loves it. Five years later 7/28/23 still going strong, might get another in the near future in case they would quit carrying them. They have jumped 100 dollars on the price point. I know inflation, so I guess you still can't beat the price. Okay it's now been about 6-7 years and I am ready for a new mattress and I will be buying another one of these mattresses, I am still using my old box springs but the mattress is wearing out now. Yes, I believe sometime this summer or fall I will buy another mattress. This one is still fine and I slept on much worse especially as a child. I had spinal surgery this winter and this mattress was great (no the surgery had nothing to do with the mattress). I was grateful to come home to old faithful and off the plastic wafer called a mattress at the hospital.

An ideal product for homes with narrow stairwells
I purchased this mattress on Amazon for a specific reason -- I have a very narrow stairwell in my home, leading from the main floor to the bedrooms. Traditional bedding just won't fit very well. The idea of a mattress that "comes in a box" was very appealing, and it definitely worked as advertised. But there are a couple of things purchasers should be aware of.Like many who live in vintage homes, I have a narrow staircase with a curving flight of stairs. This kind of staircase is not friendly to those of us who have newer, larger beds. They weren't making queen-size beds when this house was built in 1935, and you just can't get a queen box spring up the stairs. I had to toss mine. I just couldn't use it. And I got my old queen mattress up the stairs only by scrunching and twisting it.Now, the box-spring problem I was able to deal with, by buying a metal-frame box-spring you assemble yourself. You can carry the box upstairs and assemble it in the bedroom. I found those on Amazon. But when it came time for a full-size mattress for the guest room, I found myself thinking a mattress that comes in a box and expands upon opening would be much more sensible than a standard mattress. This particular mattress is priced about the same as a standard mattress, so no problem. Now, this mattress is absolutely fine. It expanded properly when I removed it from the box, and it is nice, solid and firm. It was strange to watch it take full shape in seconds when I removed the plastic outer wrap. What will those miracle boys dream up next? But I should make two observations. The first is that I made a mistake when ordering. This mattress is offered in two sizes, 9 inches thick and 12 inches thick. Nine inches is the standard mattress size. I ordered 12 inches, thinking it would be plusher, but when I finally got it seated on the bedframe I had to think I would have been better off with nine. The mattress is about 5-6 inches above the level of the footboard, and it doesn't look quite right. It also seems a bit too bulky for the small bedroom. But the way I look at it, this was my mistake -- and I can hardly see a way to return a mattress when it has already been taken out of the package and it has expanded to full size. I mean, it can't be resold to anyone else. I can live with it.The second thing worth knowing is just how heavy this mattress is -- probably twice as heavy as a standard mattress. In 12-inch size, the full mattress is 76 pounds. It is really a two-person job to get it up a steep staircase. The box has no handles and it is pretty unwieldy. During our current coronavirus shutdown I couldn't call anyone for help, and it took me a while to figure out how to push it up the stairs.Once in the room, the box was so heavy and the space in the room was so tight that I couldn't pull the mattress out, as the pictures on the box suggest. Indeed, the box doesn't open very easily -- the end flaps are glued solidly shut. I had to set the box atop the assembled box springs and then carve the box with a kitchen knife, and remove the cardboard around the mattress until I finally had it free.I could hear the mattress trying to expand when I removed it from the box -- wheezing noises, etc. But the expansion really took off when I began carefully undoing the plastic wrap. The box says it might take 48 hours to fully expand. Well, I would guess the mattress was fully expanded within one minute of the removal of the plastic wrap. Poof. No waiting involved.Anyway, the mattress is firm and comfortable, as good as any standard mattress, if not better. I wish I'd ordered the nine-inch version, but that's on me. This one will suit my purposes perfectly. But when it comes time to move, sometime not-very-soon, I hope, I am not looking forward to lugging that mattress down the stairs.
