What a fantastic piece of kit. Easy to position can be put on a shelf but we have found the best position is hanging from ceiling. We live in the country so you are guaranteed to have problems with flies and wasps and tiny fruit flies. In the past we have relied on fly papers hanging from ceiling they are unhygienic and soon fill up with dead flies. We have been looking for a well priced Fly Exterminator and we found Exterminator 16v it is well constructed and is compact in size. At first we tried it on a shelf but it did not catch many flies so we hung it from the ceiling above the fruit bowls success we were in business averaging a total kill of 25 per day. You have to get used to the noise when a fly enters the unit initially there is a snap as the fly/wasp gets fried and the crackle and pop at the end the bigger the prey the louder the sounds.Emptying the unit could not be easier just slide out the debris tray and empty into the composting bin there is even a brush supplied to clean out the corners.We are so impressed with this kit we are buying another for our conservatory. We cannot praise and recommend this unit high enough it is five stars all the way.

Great for getting rid of bluebottles and some very small bugs. We put it in the garage and it was really effective. It was less successful in getting rid of moths - which is why we bought it originally. The old adage of moths being attracted to the light didn’t really ring true. We are pleased that it keeps general insect population down but quite an expensive way to do it. Removing dead bugs is easy with the tray and little brush for wiping filaments is useful too.

Im not happy with this after 2 weeks both bulbs stopped working now its doing nothing

Worked well for a short while but after 5 months the bulbs blew. Bought replacement bulbs and tried again but they also blew after 2 months. Not worth the hassle to replace again.

The zapper arrived on the expected date and was easy to set up. Since them it has been zapping flies although not as many as I would have expected. However the sliding tray is easy to remove and empty.Well pleased so far.

Had 2 of these from Amazon - the first stopped working after 4 years use (even after trying replacement tubes) It did the job when it worked and was on constantly during the Summer months so I gave it the benefit of doubt and ordered a new unit. This 2nd unit is only 8 months old and has stopped working already. Time to move on and get a more reliable brand I'm afraid.

I just received this. I'd read one of the reviews from 2015 saying it comes with 2 spare bulbs, my order in 2019 didn't. But it didn't say it did, so that's fair enough.However, the unit arrived and was scratched and had had a label stuck to it at some point and had been badly removed, leaving a sticky residue on the face of the unit.I'm using this in my garage which is currently plagued by flies - so I'm not too bothered about the scratches and sticky patch - it kills flies - it's not a designer accessory. That said, it shouldn't be sold as new when it's damaged.I'll give it a week or so and see if it decimates the fly population if not, it's going back.
