It will not damage the football. We would recommend spraying on your hands first. Dampen your hands either naturally with sweat or may a little bit of water. Then watch Spin-iT goto work. Can this be used for pole dancing?

Yes, We also make a grip spray called "Grip-iT" We sell it very well to those that do aerial silks as well as Pole Dancing. We expect it back in stock by the end of the month.

Does it damage gloves at all?

This product is sprayed on the hands and rubbed in. Another “sticky” spray I use is sprayed on the item you want to have the tacky feeling on. I use Spin It when throwing Discus and indoor Shot Put and have achieved the desired grip. I have not used this product with baseballs, footballs, etc. I do not know if it will damage a glove. My guess is that it won’t, as it contains all natural ingredients. Overall, I like this product for what I use it for.

Can you apply this spray to Mechanics style gloves?

My guess is that you could probably get some tackiness on the gloves by spraying this product on them. Keep in mind that I don’t know if it will create the desired tackiness as I have never tried it.
