Can I prime a stretch canvas with this and then put resin over it?

My answer is yes, you can paint a canvas with water-based acrylic paint and when dry, put a resin coating on top of it. We always suggest that the customer do his/her own small test area if there is a question about the compatibility of products because there are so many types of products out there, and we cannot test them all. Here are tips for using resin: Resin is heavy and can pool in the center and cause the center of a canvas to sag. Always reinforce the canvas by cutting a piece of cardboard to fit inside the back of the canvas. This gives stability to the canvas and will help avoid sagging. Wood panels are great for painting on and putting resin on as a top coat because there is no risk of pooling or sagging in the center.
