The de facto standard
This is my second pair (need studio set and one to take around with me) , have tried others and these do the job best. They are reasonably comfortable, a bit tight at first (for me) but do loosen up. The sound reduction is pretty good and audio quality seems fine for the purpose. Perhaps not up to studio engineer level, but good for monitoring as a drummer/guitarist, live mixing etc.Not being Bluetooth enabled , they are lighter and no worry about having to charge them! If you do need to go cordless, then a Bluetooth or similar belt pack does the job. They are reasonably robust, one set has been carried around in kit bag for the last two years and used in studio and festival stages, find them easier than 'in ear' protectors as easily removed and can be use on the desk as well.Perhaps the only two criticism are1. Length of cord could be longer (but an extension cord works)2. The 1/4" jack converter should have been the professional 'screw on' type as used on most other professional headsets.Would I buy again - Yes.

Ideal for drums
My son plays drums (acoustic, not electric) and I wanted to get him new headphones.First of all, I was aware that drumming can damage hearing so wanted to protect his ears.He normally wore headphones when drumming - however he wore them so he could listen to music to play along to. (If he didn't listen music through headphones, he had to have speakers up soon loud to hear music over the drums!).However, even with headphones on, he still needed the music through them up too loud to hear it over the drums. He did try Bluetooth earplugs underneath ear-defenders for a while, however he found a slight lag in the Bluetooth affected his recording.Anyhow, these headphones are perfect. They are good quality construction. They fit comfortably on his head and he says they are really good as ear-defenders. They really do a good job at keeping the loudness of drums from damaging his ears, while at the same time are a good set of earphones to hear his music. To be clear, these are wired headphones (good length of lead) to listen to music, while having excellent noise isolation so he can hear the music in his ears, even when drumming loudly.Win-win!

Excellent for electronic drums practice
Excellent for electronic drums practice. Sound quality is very good and isolation is very good. They are quite tight though.

work well for personal monitors in a noisy environment
I struggle to cope with the sound volume when rehearsing with a rock band and I have been searching for a solution for a long time. These work well - they are essentially good quality ear defenders with built in headphones. I drive them from a wireless audio receiver intended for in ear monitors and I get much better sound isolation using these than the IEMs, although the quality of the sound is OK rather than great. I have many other pairs of headphones that sound better, but these offer the best isolation I have found so far. I find the comfort to be fine - I can wear them for hours with no problems. They are fairly tight but that's what you need I guess. Note they aren't noise cancelling - they are ear defenders of the 'dumb' type - just big blocks of foam that fit over your ears to protect them from loud noises, but with the benefit of built in headphone drivers. Overall a good solution for what I wanted.

Essential for E-Drums
These deserve a review.I have an Alesis Surge SE...a recent purchase (love it) and I started out last week using a £129 pair of headphones..specifically for listening to music via HiFi or my phone using Spotify. For that I love them.I decided to try a set of headphones specifically for E-drums. To say these headphones improved the sound is an understatement...even the sound of the inbuilt drum sounds are amazing. Clarity, the subtleties and the 'space' around the drum is fantastic and the samples do sound more realistic. If you use BFD or EZ Drummer the sound is another level. They are robust. The cable and where it joins the headset is quality. The noise cancelling is superb and they look great. As I said these are setup for drums and not really for listening to music. They are tight on the head at first. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were twice the price.

Stopped working from 1 ear-piece after 4mths
Nice set of headphones, look good and give good sound reduction protection for my son's drums. However - jack-plug lasted about 4mth before developing a fault and now sound only comes from 1 ear-piece.

The best and most important purchase for Drummers !
Every drummer needs these ! They are the best don’t waste time on others.Allows you to protect your ears from harsh drum sounds in small rooms.Allows you to get a nice and safe mix of audio in your ears.My kit sounds so much better I’m my small studio where before it was simply too loud and harmful. Now I mic the kit and able to control the volume through the mixer out to the headphones.I bought another pair for my son as we play two kits together and wanted him to benefit form the great mix I had. Also like any Dad I wanted to protect his little ears.I strongly believe that these headphones will save money because it improves the acoustic sound of cymbals and drums while allowing you to plug the iPhone or whatever in to play along with. They could only be improved by having a detachable cable so you could just use them as ear defenders if you wanted to without the lead dangling down.I have tinnitus so I know how important this issue is, I with I had these years ago to look after my ears as they would have allowed me to play Drums safely.Get these now :)
