Shannon Faux Fur Luxury Shag Amber, Fabric by the Yard

The media could not be loaded. This is a review for the amber color of this fur, as you can see in the picture and the video, it is more of a honey orange (more yellow and light). Though I do recommend dying the fur it isn’t necessary if you don’t want to put the time into it. It on its own is a pretty good value for fur, definitely much better quality then you’d get at a joanns but at the same price point. The pile of the fur isn’t too long but it still has a good amount of fluff to it, the density is great on this fur as well! The softness compared to other furs leaves a little to be desired but brush it a couple of times with a slicker brush and shake it out a ton and you’ll be pretty happy.

Bought this for a halloween costume (9 Tailed Fox from Naruto) and it's the perfect color, most others were a bright orange. it's very soft and does make you want to pet it. Cut it with a knife, not scissors so you don't remove fur accidentally. As expected it does shed a fair bit, when working with it it gets all over the place, I would wear a mask, and use an air filter in the room. So far it seems to be holding up well and was relatively easy to sew.

I am so so happy with this purchase. I searched for the right faux fur for a fox costume for my granddaughter. This is absolutely perfect. The quality is awesome and the price was good. Most importantly the fabric was cut with such care. I recently bought faux fur at a fabric store and they butchered the entire edge, wasting lots of usable fabric. This Seller cut the fabric so carefully (which is tricky when cutting fur). Thank you!

The color was way off. It Shed a lot. I ordered two but only got one big one.

This material was so much more than I expected! I looked in the stores for material to make a fox costume for my grandson. They had some ok furs, but they were too orange. One of the workers at a local fabric store suggested that I check out the furs from this website. I am so glad that I did. This fur remindes me of my Siberian Husky during the winter; very soft, thick and fluffy.Thanks to my highschool Home Economics teacher (from 40 yrs. ago) who taught me how to sew fur, the material was easy to work with. I will definitely order material from this company again!

I love Shannon furs, and this one did not disappoint. Easy to work with, super soft, even pile, tapered ends, nice backing. The color is quite close to the stock photo. Perfect for many projects. I recommend cutting from the back with a box/exacto knife to preserve the fibers or snip and tear for straight lines. Use a hair dryer on warm to straighten out any bends in the fibers.

Beautiful color but lots of shedding and not as vibrant as expected. Still a good quality and color for the price though.
