Great flavor, good "heat"
I really like this hot sauce, it's not available locally to me so I ordered 3 bottles.Packaging was actually fantastic, the bottles were inside an inflated container, that was surrounded by more inflated bags. Showed up on time and in perfect condition.

No aftertaste hot sauce!
We fell in love with this Costa Rican hot sauce while SCUBA diving in Belize. I don't like Tabasco Sauce because I think it has an aftertaste. Melinda's hot sauce is carrot-based and gives a richly tangy boost to any and all foods. Love it! (The price is certainly right---we saw this in the Charleston Market for $15 a bottle!!)

So many uses - not overly spicy -- just right!
I first had this sauce when a friend brought a bottle back from Belize over 20 years ago. I know the company has changed hands since then, but the bottle I recently purchased from Amazon is very close to my first bottle of this. The "Hot" is just right to add a little head with good flavor. I use it to heat up red beans and rice, chicken soup, egg/hash browns/sausage casserole -- anything that could use a little "bump" in flavor. Not *too* hot (some folks might disagree) -- I like that you can actually taste the ingredients even though it's spicy. Good stuff!

Other brands WISH they were this good!
We originally bought a sample bottle from the store to try it and immediately fell in love with Melinda's. I'm the type of gal who will trade spice for flavor, but this specific sauce has the best of both worlds. Even our kids love it! We can put it on literally anything for an extra boost of flavor. It's a great price, and came in a cute little box perfect for storing or gifting. I'm going to send my sister the variety pack for her birthday!

Good flavor
If you like hot sauce to add flavor to food this is a good choice. I don't find it the hottest. If you want that go to the ghost pepper.

It's a shame
Tastes good but I recently found out these folks stole the trademark from the original woman who started the company. She had to rebuild as Marie Sharp's. Melinda's was named after the farm owned by her husband's family. It's a shame, the sauce is pretty good but I can't support the company further.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Sharp"Her first product was called "Melinda's" after the farm owned by her husband's family. For ten years, she worked to build the brand, expanding into jams, jellies, and marmalades made with tropical fruit. In 1988, with the help of the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the United States Agency for International Development, she attended Clemson University, studying food packaging. Sharp found a distributor in the United States and began to market the product internationally. It was the first Belizean-made export product to gain wide acceptance and the only habanero-based sauce on the market at that time. In a marketing move, the distributor filed a trademark on the name. When Sharp found out in 1991 that the distributor had trademarked her product, she hired a lawyer. Because of the cost involved, travel constraints and the fact that as her sole distributor she could not work, Sharp eventually gave up the name to her sauce in exchange for a release of her contractual obligations, after a five-year struggle."
