Plug n play with u-Center 2 and N.I.N.A. Astro software
Worked out of the box on the mini PC I use for astrophotography. U-Center 2 found many satellites and got a 3D fix quickly, and NINA likewise. I’d previously gone through some pain getting a basic uncabled dongle to work, and knew to NOT install any fancy drivers and reply on a basic serial device connection for NMEA interfacing. So when I plugged in this new one it worked immediately, and the larger antenna and integrated long usb cable allowed me to position it on top of my telescope for a very quick fix. Very handy for trips to other sites and saves me copying data from my phone. I’m lazy that way.

Did exactly what i wanted it to do.
Connected this device into a Victron Cerbo GX device in a motorhome to use for vehicle tracking and geo fencing. Victron recognised the GPS language and it worked straight away. I made sure the device was positioned in clear view for satellite connect and it picked up 10 satellites so location accuracy is excellent.

A complete dud
I wanted a USB GPS to feed my PC running Navionics charting when away from the boat. Plugged the unit in , serial connection noted on COM 5 but no driver. There is a recommended driver from Dell but when cross referenced to my Dell W10 laptop it said it was not compatible. Looked on web and clearly connection is a nightmare. One dedicated user said that he finally achieved GPS input after much research and10 hours of work! Life is too short. Vendor has no proper site or install guidance. U2 Center - chip supplier's site - loads monitor but then will not recognise the VFAN unit. This is a million miles from plug and play.Unit returned for refund. Avoid.

Plug and play gps
Plugged into a Cerbo GX on my narrow boat and after a few seconds full GPS nav logged into the setup.I can now geofence my boat and turn off engine or internal electrics should it be needed. It also gives a full tracking option in Victron software which you can download for viewing on maps.Could do with a longer usb lead as 2m is a bit on the short side (had to buy an extender lead).Great plug and play usb device
