Q: Is this an authentic Samsung charger? I plugged it into my original Samsung adapter today and it isnt charging my phone.

To Questions about this item (advertised clearly as a Data Cable *NOT a charger...)This cable should plug into any Galaxy S5 phone and then into a certified USB-3 port for USB-3 Data transfer. However, *many USB devices, and especially "USB-3" data cables, are not made according to USB-3 technical specifiations, and therefore do not function as advertised. This is why many non-specification USB-3 cables are in-expensive. The subject cable would appear to also connect a Samsung S5 phone to a USB-3 certified port and provide charging amperage to the phone. A way to check is to connect the S5 phone to a USB-3 port on a PC by 'Using a *Known Samsung charger *cable' (like the one that comes with a new retail Samsung S5 phone). If the known official Samsung cable does Not charge the phone, then one would need to look further for the source of the "problem". IF the known official Samsung S5 cable Does charge the phone, then your particular cable, advertised here, is faultly. my -2- cents

Q: How long is the cable?

The original cable ie the one that came with my phone was 59 inches long, the one I purchased through Amazon is 38 inches long.I hope this helps.

No, It is only for Galaxy S5. It won't work on S1 S3 S3 or S4 and then it doesn't work for anything past S5. It really only does the S5. I don't know anything about the Galaxy Note's, so can't help on those ones.

This is specifically designed for devices compatible with usb 3.0. The kindle uses usb 2.0
