Q: how high is the vertical section between the door and the floor?

The angled section ends about 5/8" below the bottom of the door.

Q: I need more of the black "washers", but I can't seem to find any for #6 self-drilling screws that fit like these do?

I don't know where you can get more washers but this is what I did. I used five washers from the old molding. You probably can get washers from Home Depot. When the door is closed you can't really see the washers so it wasn't a problem for me. This is a great garage door sealer and easy to install. I hope this helps.

You can use this on a metal garage door--we did, and it worked perfectly. You have to use self-tapping metal screws instead of the wood nails that are included. Capri Tools 10024 Hex Self Tapping Screw Assortment, 200-Piece, here on Amazon. The washers that come with this weather strip fit perfectly. This weather strip is just wonderful, and fits perfectly! It keeps out bugs, small animals, and the grass that the landscapers try to blow under our garage door after mowing!
