Best dog poo invention ever
Oh my gawd, this is one of the best purchases I have ever made ... I mean, ever!Super easy solution to dog poo. No more storing poop in a stinky can for a week and then putting it in the landfill.Couldn't have been easier. Just open your cleanout thingy (everybody has one somewhere ... ours is in front of the house, so we have to walk from the backyard to the front), screw this in, then open the lid when you want to put poo down the drain. Wash it down if it's messy (we have a hose right next to it), and close the lid.Well made. No smell. Super easy.Thank you, thank you, thank you. I feel so much better. We have a big dog and were putting a lot of poo in the landfill, which just feels wrong.

Update: The best invention EVER!
It's been a little over two months now and the 'Doggie Do Drain' we installed is working perfectly and easily handles the waste from my two +100# labs. Not only do my guys appreciate having a clean yard to play in, I've never had a problem washing their waste down the drain, regardless of the weather or quantity of poop. This winter we've had rain, sleet and below freezing weather, (which turns poop into rocks,) and never had a back-up, or any other problem whatsoever.Dealing with dog waste, even from a dog you adore, is a nasty chore, and so anything that makes it less onerous helps ensure that it gets DONE. The fact that you can wash the poop down the drain almost effortlessly is a real plus, and at the very least, it will reduce the smell and fly population around your house. I poop-patrol the yard twice a day, (just as I always have,) and have noticed a marked decrease in the fly population on the property compared to any other poop disposal system I've tried in the last 20yrs of dog ownership.Again, I can't recommend this product highly enough...especially if you have large dogs, multiple dogs, or just want an easy and environmentally friendly way to deal with dog waste in your yard. I'm actually considering ordering another unit or two, just in case these are someday no longer available...it's that good.Original Review:Prior to buying and installing the Doggie Do Drain, I tried the Dooley 3000 septic system, and had it installed as per the directions exactly...however, the soil here did not cooperate.I then tried the "Doggie Do Drain," and it changed my life!If you are on a sewer line, don't even think about doing anything else. Here are two YouTube links showing how it works:[...][...]While my clean-out was not so easily accessible as shown in the first video, my handyman was able to install an additional clean-out, (I also splurged and had an additional hose bib installed just for pure convenience.) To install the new clean-out took just about 2hours, about the same as it took him to dig the hole for the Doggie Dooley and install it.Unlike the Dooley, this is not a septic system, and so does not require enzymes or other ongoing maintenance and works in any soil all year round and at $44bucks it is less expensive. Because it flushes into the sewer system, it really is just like an outdoor toilet for your dog(s), so his waste gets treated just like yours before re-entering the environment.Nor is there a lid for the dogs to step on like with the Dooley. That is still in place, and more than once I've found the thing open and stinking after they've been playing in the yard. Now I am going to have my yard guy fill it in or cover it up in some way since I can't imagine how to get it OUT of the ground at this point...which also makes returning it rather impossible.Believe me, after using both, the Doggie Do Drain is THE solution to dog waste and simply the best invention ever for a dog owner. I have two very large labs and this is the first thing that has ever made the chore of keeping their play yard ready for play easy...I can't recommend it enough.I absolutely LOVE this thing.

Where’s this been all my life?
Super easy to install, and works as advertised. I’m a bit concerned about the quality of the plastic it’s made of, as it feels like that cheap plastic that eventually degrades in the sun, and breaks. But it feels fairly solid, and is big enough to rinse your tools in after each use, too. Sure makes dog cleanup easier.

Almost a year in and I highly recommend it!
We have had the Doggie Doo Drain Dog Waste Sewer Line Attachment for almost a year and I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their lawn poop free without filling the landfill with plastic bags or digging your own doggie septic system. It has stood up to the heat of a Texas summer without discoloring or cracking and is simple to use. Our sweet little pup enjoys her own product (if you get my drift) and having this installed in the yard has made it so easy to keep her from 'snacking on leftovers'. Great product and worth every penny!

Suggestions for safer use and improvement
This product functions just as described and helps clean up the yard waste with a simple one time down-the-drain action. This product seems sturdy enough to last a fairly long time if handled correctly. In these ways the idea is great. I do have a concern that the design of the handle includes many many many pockets to trap debris, which in this usage particularly has a high possibility of leading to contamination (E. coli and others) and infection. Moreover the design will cause the device to collect rain water, raising the contamination up the handle. As is, It is better maintained in a dry environment. Once wet and dirty, the handle will be very difficult to clean. Hopefully, The next revision or the product will take this into consideration. This product is still much better than filthy bags and trash cans.
